I am utterly confused at the many comparisons being made of this new stage with Final Destination. They are nothing alike! Final Destination has ledges with relatively far stage edges. The Bridge of Eldin goes from one end of the stage to the other with a hole occasionally appearing in the center. Are you comparing the fact that it has no platforms? Fights on this bridge will be nothing like fights on Final Destination. If anything, characters with bad recoveries will thrive on this new stage since they only have to worry about an occasional gap in the middle!

I actually think that portions of the destroyed bridge will not be restricted to the center.

'Occasionally, he uses bombs to blast holes in the stage' - Sakurai's blog

I interpret that as meaning that any chunk of the bridge can be destroyed, maybe even multiple places at once. For instance, imagine the two ends of the stage gone, and you have a stage reminiscent of FD. Just wanted to point that out to some speaking of constant ring outs to the side of the stage.

That would be so amazing if Bulbin or whatever his name is blasted out the two sides and there was only a small middle chunk to play in, that would add some major pressure...but I don't think that'd happen because the middle wouldn't be attached to anything unlike the sides.

Yea, it's not a bridge with supporting pillars, there's nothing under the bridge itself, so that would be physically impossible. Also, the middle section is breaks away storyline wise. yes, in the game you have to find it somewhere else and bring it back and fix it via twilight portal.

Size speculation

Take the zoomed in picture of the characters fighting...

And superimpose it on the whole field shown so that it is the same approximate size.

We can see that the stage seems to be pretty big in comparison to the characters, but how big exactly?

Taking a Melee screenshot of FD and reducing it so that the characters shown are in relative proportions to the Brawl characters...

We can get a pretty good approximation of how big the stage is!

Without alot of insight about the stage it's pretty much another version of Final Destination but with prettier backgrounds, and a hell of alot more interactivity apparently!! And who said a flat board can't be interesting. I personally enjoy the flat torrain of SSBM's FD board.
