Rules
Singles and Doubles tournaments are Double Elimination
All matches are 3-stock, 8-minute time limit
Items set to OFF and NONE
Team attack ON and share-stock is allowed (Doubles)
Normal matches are best 2/3
Winner’s/Loser’s Bracket Finals and Grand Finals are best 3/5
BE ON TIME! If a player fails to play their match eight minutes after it has been called, that player forfeits the match. Please inform the T.O. if you are leaving the tournament area any reason.
Disputes for controller ports will be resolved using a coin toss or rock-paper-scissors. In doubles, disputed ports are chosen in a 1221 fashion where the winner selects their port, followed by both members of the losing team, followed by the winner’s teammate taking the remaining port.
Each player is allowed to strike one neutral stage per set.
Each player is allowed to ban one counterpick stage per set.
The first match of each set is double blind character pick (if desired), random neutral stage (see stage list below)
Format for consequent games are as follows:
Loser picks stage
Winner picks character
Loser picks character
A player cannot counterpick a stage that he or she has already won on in that set unless the opponent agrees to it.
Please report the match results to the T.O. immediately after the match has ended. There will be plenty of time for friendlies after the tournament has ended.
Additional Rules
Every player is responsible to bring his or her own controller to the tournament. Controllers that have had their function tampered with in any way are not permitted for tournament use.
If the timer runs out, the winner is determined first by stock and then by percentage. In the rare case that stock and damage are the same when time runs out, the players will play a 2-minute, 1-stock match on the same stage.
Metaknight's Infinite Dimensional Cape Glitch is banned.
Currently DDD's infinite and small-step chaingrabs are banned.Ice Climber things are legal, as long as they aren't used for stalling.
Wall locks are banned.
Stalling and planking are banned. If you feel that your opponent is stalling the match or that you are being planked, call the T.O. over to watch the match. If the T.O. finds the player in question guilty of either, that player forfeits the match.
In the event that a match ends with a suicide kill (Ganondorf's side-B, Bowser's side-B, Dedede's neutral-B, etc.) the victory will be awarded to the player who used the move.
Any unforeseen issues or problems that arise at the tournament are to be resolved by the T.O.
Please be respectful to the venue, T.O., and the other players.
The T.O. has the right to eject a player from the tournament at any time for any reason. without refund.
