This is a thread for the prediction of the tier list. As the character list updates on dojo, I would like for us to make a tier list based around the info.
So.. Start posting your prediction of the tier list.. and dont make it based on
you favoritism of the character... make it Believable
I know we dont know how they are going to tweak ppl...

This is assuming they don't overtweak some of the characters. I get the feeling there's going to be a huuuuge difference in the way this one plays versus Melee. Just remember, Kirby was "top tier" in the original game...

I remember those Kirby days ;_; he better be improved this time around.

Oh well there's always metaknight maybe he'll be even better than Kirby was in 64(banned lol) j/k

 

[Gypsy Lee]

Top

Pit (speed, range, projectile, and great recovery)
Peach (one of the cheapest most broken characters in the game has kept the same moveset, hooray for the metrosexuals who main her)
Metaknight (super speed, great recovery, good aerial game, and probably good comboability for a swordsman)

High

Pikachu (with just a stat tweak, Pikachu can be competitive again)
Samus (unless she loses her bomb jumb, Samus will likely be upper tier again; if she can shoot missles or beams on the run, then she'll be broken)
Fox (everyone knows he needs nerfed, and I think he'll drop down a few notches)
Link (he looks like he got a major upgrade, and he needed it)
Diddy Kong (projectile, probably a good recovery, and most likely a combo machine, but he'll be balanced out with light weight and poor priority)

Middle

Mario (he's always been balanced, so expect to see him in the middle again)
Kirby (unless Kirby got a major stat change and his moves fixed a bit, then I don't really think he'll be very good this time around)
Ike (range and power, but most likely slow and easily comboed)
Donkey Kong (I don't remember a time when Donkey Kong was good...)
Wario (he looks like a sort of novelty character, but it's hard to tell how his moves work and his stats are from only screen shots)

Bottom

Yoshi (meh)
Zelda (poor maneuverability and slow moves and not as hot as Peach = the metrosexuals won't even play as her)
Pokemon Trainer (I just can't fathom this guy being anywhere near decent)
Bowser (big and slow characters typically blow in fighting games)
Zero Suit Samus (If you've ever played Zero Mission, then you'd agree with me)

I'm sure Metaknight will pwn hard. If they ever update him xD Seriously, those A attacks look crazy. If they just get rid of that stupid dash they gave Kirby in Melee and give him back his old one, that alone will make me want to play him more. As it is, he's way too prone to going farther than I want him to on a dash attack. It reminds me a lot of Falcon, which isn't who I want to play as when I play Kirby.

Tier is crap and should not be focused on...

Hell, one of my tops is bottom tier and I have beaten people that I couldn't with my high tier character...

Tier lists are based on the results of tourneys.. and doesnt really take part of the advantage of skill... It pretty much says who is better if the skills between players are equal..

So plzz post a tier list ...thanks

But he's completely right. There's absolutely nothing to go on to indicate who will be top or bottom tier, it's just more random guessing of who sucked in Melee and the newcomers people liked the most. Notice how almost everyone has posted Bowser in bottom tier? If he's that awful in Melee (which he is) then they'll make him better this time around to balance, because that's how you balance games. For all we know tiers won't even exist because it's so well balanced that there is no one best character. This topic is pretty much pointless.
