Thats not true at all, Brawl is not gonna get sold out so fast like that. There are less SSBM fans than your average video games.

I got games much bigger than Brawl right after they came out (WoW, Gears) unreserved without a problem. Face it, there's only a point to reserving systems. Maybe Halo 3 if there were only a few stores that sold games around you, but I still doubt it.
