@ P PATH O__o GG's, gotta go finish up some homework/study. I think I have the power to not procrastinate after playing 5 hours of P:M......

Who was the guy we were playing? He was pretty good, baiting out grabs OoS from you and punishing with Falco D-Tilt. He also punished your usual spotdodge from shield with a Jab (on shield) -> F-Smash (after spotdodge). I played badly myself (Lag screwing inputs and stuff DX) so egh. Spamming Side-B as Falcon too much. I need to space aerials/DD better...

SDI? That's when you use the c-stick to influence the direction you get hit or to escape multi-hit moves. Actually, I think influencing the direction you get hit in is just regular DI. Can anyone confirm this?

DI Makes sense.... completely

Brb procrastinating.

DI, or Directional Influence, is moving the left stick to change where and attack sends you. For example, if you are launched vertically, you would move the left stick (or DI) to the left or right, so that you can increase the distance you are launched before passing the blast line. Likewise, if you get launched horizontally, DI up (or down..) to increase the distance you can fly before hitting the blast line. So, in other words, aim for the corners.

SDI, or Smash Directional Influence, is moving the c-stick/right stick to escape a multi-hit attack. Zelda's forward smash is a great example (In Brawl). Smart bombs are also prime examples. SDI is more effective if you constantly tap in a direction rather than holding one direction.

I'm not a big dubstep fan, but Song of Storms is coincidentally my favorite OoT theme.

I can literally and meaningfully say right now, "let the storm rage on", because I want this storm to be loud.
I want it to be loud, and I want it to be violent.

Everyone seemed to be against each other, and since I saw myself respawning, my instinct was to beat the crud out of everyone. Which I successfully did thanks to DDD's Final Smash.

Sometimes I wonder about BB. Sometimes, it will give me matches left and right, and other times it won't give me anyone for a good 45 minutes. Usually when that happens it starts giving me lots of matches, oddly enough.

When I have matches with you guys, and I use a character that you main/use, does it make you guys mad? Is it unsporting?

I steal people's characters occasionally if I think I can do better. Although I main Kirby I have decent skill with the whole cast.

The joys of BB! That happens to me a lot, too.

Yeah, I've been going crazy with BB ever since the announcement. This is my only way to play against other humans, and once it's gone, I'll probably stop playing Brawl completely. I tried fighting a Lv. 9 CPU but....it didn't feel the same. They're somewhat unpredictable, and have waaaay too good of reactions. Power shields galore.

For me it's kind of the other way around at times. Lv. 9 CPUs can get kind of boring and uninteresting after all. Sometimes they can be unpredictable, but in my experience none of them really have much of an established playstyle, nor do they tend to try any different tactics once you get the hang of fighting them. (that said, I haven't fought any Lv. 9 CPUs in a loooooong time, so I'm going off memory) I agree it doesn't feel the same knowing you're not playing with actual people, just practicing and testing your skills by battling against the game itself.

No interesting groups in BB tonight so far, been in three as of yet. Latest one involved a Sonic that did almost nothing but F-airs, S-tilts and recovering when need be. Might just be my luck, but I've noticed a majority of the bad players online happen to use Link or Sonic, usually resorting to walking around the stage, spamming the S-tilt when they get to someone. And with Sonic they usually use a lot of aerials or specials too. I've seen a lot of really good Links and Sonics every now and then, but I've run into more bad Links and Sonics than any other character.
