the gameplay in the trailers seem pretty slow, hope theyre not trying to take away the fast pace of melee, anybody else notice it?

You should see the early Melee videos. Even slower.

They are just showing off the different moves of the game. Obviously its going to be faster (closer to the first trailer). Stop making stupid assumptions, when we haven't even seen actual gameplay.

Theres already been threads about this, you can post this in the Why is everyone nervous about Brawl Potentiolaly Sucking Thread.

But to anser you, no, I think it was more effect than annyhing. They just wanted to get you hyped for it. It wasn't real gameplay.

Exactly, there are many threads about this anyways. This topic is pointless.

I think there's a typo in your title.

Correction: "brawl looks a bit amazing"

No it isn't. Really, how many times have you seen them dash? Maybe 3 or 4 times, if that weird thing Wario does is a dash.

Overall I feel the speed is the same, but because framerate issues (due to encoding, real-time web streaming, etc.) may seem the game to go slower. Is like when you record a match and put it in youtube, it isn't a very faithful format to the real thing.

And what makes Melee fast are the players. They are full jumping and that in the videos. That makes the game seem to be slower than you are accustomed to.

Take a look at the first trailer at 60fps and look how it does compared to the little flash one in smashbros.com.

They just slowed it down so you can take in all the scenery and the charecters animations. I mean, when you play Melee, with all its fast pace, you don't really look at the all the beauty of it all.

Makes scense to slow the trailors a tad bit down.

Everytime someone makes a thread, it should be mod-previewed! How many times has this been discussed? :p

If I head a lot of time to waste, I'd actually make a Sticky directing everyone to threads discussing every aspect of this game. Seems to me like ppl don't have anything more to speculate about and just dig up the oldest thread as if brand-new.

This topic has been made numerous times before.

Yes,Brawl may look slower, but when you look at conventional play and advanced play,it seperates the speed entirely.Just look at the first Melee trailer, the speed and freeze frames were slower than anything i've seen before,

But when you play it,the gameplay if faster and more fluent itself. Then when you take the plunge into advanced play is when the game will get faster.

We can't judge based off a trailer,we have to wait until we play the game itself.
