In the near vicinity of Marios toilet.
It's been up on the IGN brawl page for quite some time, so I'm guessing it's legit. However, the image was leaked onto the boards there almost a month before it came up.

So you can decide for yourself if it's legitimate or not.

Oh thanks, I just noticed it and didn't see the page.
I thought you guys would have been interested, and I don't check IGN just for the notice, I hardly go there at all now-a-days.

I don't think it is real. It is cool alright but, I imagine something better will come up.

I've seen it a few times, and if it is a fake it's a pretty **** good one. It's not bad boxart, but there's a chance something else may surface.

1. Old news.
2. It's neither been confirmed or deconfirmed as the official boxart.
3. Stop overusing the word "legit". You people made a professional term go bad.

I'll say what I want to say, d*mnit.
I agree with this guy, you can't exactly DEMAND we stop saying a word ;D
And Legit is too awesome for someone like you to use anyway ;P
jk mate.

- Intended towards EgRuntz.

BTW; I already stated this was just a question in the first post, not an actual peice of news.

It is a placeholder. I work at Gamestop and we just got a bit of marketing with this picture on it. Personally, I think they will add more characters to the cover art once they become confirmed.

You obviously didn't live through the 80's.

And you're well aware that 'legit' is a slang term for 'legitimate', right? Legit's never been professional. Especially after MC Hammer.
1. No I did not.
2. Being as legitimate is an intelligent (professional) term, legit (the shortened slang) also is so. It's never been professional? Maybe I mis-used the word professional, but you don't see most kids saying "legit" commonly. Even my mother never says it.
3. That video will haunt my mind forever.
4. It's fun to number responses.

you are very late i posted this on a box art thread. But it looks legit though

This topic has already been discussed to death. This box art is fake. Here is IGN's statement on it: http://wii.ign.com/mail/
IGN said:
Yeah, the Super Smash Bros. Brawl box art we recently added to our game object. Well, it's not really official, if that's what you're asking. I e-mailed a rep for Nintendo about whether or not it was legit, and received only the response: "We haven't released any new box art." However, the box art we're using also happens to be featured on just about every major retailer, from GameStop to Amazon, which is usually a good indicator that it was sent out to, at the very least, represent the game. It may not be final, in other words, but it could be that NOA released it as a placeholder for retailers to use. Regardless, it's pretty, and until we've got something more official, we're using it, too. Note that the box art appears with and without Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection logos depending on the retailer you visit, so don't try to draw any conclusions about Brawl's online connectivity just yet.
For those of you who have not noticed, retailers always obtain fake box art for placeholders until something better comes along. Were none of you paying attention when Twilight Princess was coming out? For a long time, no one even knew the official title. Once the title was released, there were several versions of box art all over the Internet.

As for this box art of Brawl, I would be downright embarrassed for Nintendo if that were the final draft. It is a horrible cover for the game. First off, the background is a bright blue flash. Nintendo does better than that. The characters featured on the front are only the characters whom were revealed thus far. Now we know about so many more that it would be silly to even think that this cover is final. As for the drawing of the characters themselves, they really are not that impressive. It is definitely the best art so far (and quite unique), but I know people who can draw that well (and use Photoshop to add excellent shading). It is possible this artwork came from NOA, but I can guarantee that it is not the final box art.

Cool find, I thought it was real myself.
