As much as I hate to admit, Gimpyfish, I agree. It looks like he's a sideways Bowser pinwheel that trips at the end.

Melee's dash dance took better advantage of the fact that Bowser was a car, though.

So does tripping have a COMPLETELY random pattern to it or only when you're foxtrotting/dashdancing/did several consecutive dashes in a short time?
