I think it's kinda like how the National PokéDex is growing right now. Mew wasn't confirmed until a later date, so it was added later in the PokéDex as a result.

I've never understood why Mew is #151 and Mewtwo is #150 when Mew existed before Mewtwo, and thus, was discovered first.

Probably because mew's original creation was a "throw it in" moment. In the lore it makes no sense, but during development of the original game, the creator saw that after having everything he wanted in the game, there was still enough room for one more Pokemon, and made mew, put him in without a way to obtain and simply just plopped him in. Thus resulting in the last digit of the pokedex. Thus the reason why he is last isn't from lore but development of a "put him in cause we can for giggles"

Mew was secretly added by one of the creators. Mewtwo was meant to be the last Pokemon of Kanto but the surprise of mew wasn't known by many who developed RBG or those who played it until it was revealed (RED, BLUE, GREEN)

It's Terror Time Again.

I absolutely love cartoons. The world thinks it's odd for adults to watch cartoons, because they assume they are only meant for children. I think that the world has a very backwards thought process with it. Just because something is fictional does not mean that it should immediately be dismissed as pointless.

Some of the best pieces of media in our generation are cartoons and video games, which the world thinks is wrong for us to enjoy.
