Yep. Team Four Star is mainly known for Dragon Ball Z Abridged. Considering how much work they put into it, they don't deserve getting taken down for copyright infringement. That's just dumb on YouTube's part.

According to TFS, it wasn't Funimation (which makes sense because that company loves them) who filed the complaint. It could still have been either Toei Animation or Fuji TV.

Not really.. they make it a better place for them and what they believe in.. doesn't necessarily mean it's for the betterment of the world or country they rule..

The hell did this turn from killing Uni to morals vs ethics? That's quite the large leap not gonna lie.

If effort was enough to prevent legal action from being taken against you Project M would still be in development. #topical

Sometimes, silly leads to serious.
The opposite is usually true though...
Some of my friends IRL literally can't hold a conversation without it devolving into a shamble of memes, CS:GO, or Dota. Or all three.

Why do I even bother hanging out with them? Two of them have punched me in the face... (not as part of a joke either. They got mad at me and punched me in the face, both for REALLY stupid reasons)

A10theHero A10theHero , while I agree that the way it currently works is more detrimental than beneficial in most cases, I understand why its gotten to this point. We are at a point now where certain IPs are worth so much that companies simply can't afford to take any risks whatsoever with them being misrepresented by third parties. Unfortunately for us, that means the axing of one of the better mods to ever exist. Also, call me Lava. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Still better than my own classmates; they always end conversations in Nazi jokes

Some even went as far as to make an "Everything is Nazi!" inside joke because of that :rotfl:

I don't think copyright laws have much to do with that. Like Internet Explorer got a terrible image that Microsoft never really could rectify and copyright laws wouldn't have saved it.
Also, fair use is very important. Most of us aren't corporations, but all of us can be creative given a set of tools. If a tool involves something copyrighted, then so be it. That's not piracy and there was obvious effort on the creator's part.
Even if corporations claim they are protecting brand image, it just seems like an excuse. Especially when, like in TFS's case, it probably helped the brand more than hurt it.

I probably will too, cuz it'd be kinda weird to call him Sweetie especially since he's the grandpa of this thread, lol.
Maybe once in a while I still will :p

Yeah, but Internet Explorer's bad image wasn't caused by any third-party. It was an objectively inferior browser to most other options available, that's why that happened, that had nothing to do with any copyright laws.
I definitely agree with you about the importance of fair use though. Protecting brand image or not, no content creator should be afraid of being creative because of the ever-present threat of the Copyright Strike-hammer. That's even more important in cases like DBZA and PM where the content in question is doing good things for the brand itself.
