Its usually the chatting that stimulates the counting here, and its usually the lack of it that kills the thread.
an additional person joining in should increase the activity regardless of the effects it has

And what ismar did was chat with the person through their own post, basically replying to the person with themselves
It even got to the point in one time where we horribly offcount thanks to ninjas and edited the correct count in, then ismar proceed to delete all said edits causing even more chaos and confusion to follow
