1. It feels like the writers are pulling Ex Machina on Starlight by giving her knowledge she shouldn't have.

2. The alternate timeline is scaring me a bit because of the feels Twily might have.

That only signifies that she was waiting for Twilight and eventually followed her to Ponyville where she later Spied on her. Nothing about the map and being able to use it to send Twilight away..

There should be no books that would contain any information on the map otherwise Twilight would have already read it, be sealed away tightly, or just not in any books because it would be new knowledge because it's never been done before. The only logical way would be if Starlight wanted to invade Twilight's personal space while she was away and see if she could find away to get revenge. But then again the map may be eye catching but nothing that would say that it could amplify Magic power and letting Starlight send Twilight back
