I realize that, but the thing is that the key was in my sig and I made it clear that it was a Vigenère.

However, the mirrored thing is what threw them off, which is ironic because it is the most primitive cipher to exist.

Spoiler: Wall of Text

1. Use Blue Version for lower cost Abra.
2. Start the game with options Fast/Off/Shift (note the change from Set if you've run previous routes).
3. Name yourself a preset name and Rival "AA".
4. Pick up PC Potion
5. Pick Bulbasaur
6. Rival: Tackle Charmander. You can die quite easily here. In a race, potion if it'll actually help. Growl really sucks.
   • Pidgey strats: Check bulbasaur's special here. 12 = RESET, 13 = kill 1 encounter on route 1(75% to work), 14 = only kill weedle guy (43% to work)
   • PP strats: Do not kill any scrubs on Route 1 unless it is a level 4 Rattata. This will allow you to level to 7 learn Leech Seed.
   • Race strats (unless you want to just do PP strats): On 12 special, fall back to PP strats. On 13 special, kill at least 32 XP worth of encounters (L4 Rattata, L2 anything + L3 anything, or two L2 Rattatas) to get to level 7, then do PP strats on 14 special or Pidgey strats on 15 special. On 14 special, buy items as if you were going to do Pidgey strats but don't actually catch a Pidgey before entering the forest. If you get 16 after Weedle guy, catch a Pidgey on the northern half of Route 2 and do Pidgey strats, otherwise fall back to PP strats (just without the shop in Pewter).
7. Deliver Oak's Parcel (so get to Viridian and then back to Pallet) and then head back to Viridian.
8. Pidgey strats: Buy 5 pokeballs, 1 Burn Heal and 1 Paralyz Heal from Viridian mart.
9. Pick up the Tree Potion.
10. Pidgey strats: Catch a pidgey on route 2, lvl 3 will always work. HP values of pidgey change what you do after brock skip.
    • 8- Nothing
    • 10- HOLD B while you walk to Saffron
    • 13- Nothing
    • 15- HOLD B while you walk to Saffron
    • 16- HOLD B while you walk to Saffron & When you reach Saffron center PC save + Quit (reset this on sight if you don’t want to lose the time)
    • 17- HOLD B while you walk to Saffron
11. Head through Viridian Forest, pick up the Antidote item ball, and head for Weedle Guy. (Movement)
12. Pick up the hidden Potion just before Weedle Guy then fight him.
13. (Race strat: you can pick up the extra Potion item ball that's a little out of the way too)
14. Weedle Guy: Tackle Weedle. Since Bulbasaur is Poison Type you can't get Poisoned.
    • Pidgey strats: If you had 11 Attack at Level 6 and not full HP coming in to this fight, consider Growling Weedle once at the start of the fight to make it only do 2 damage per Poison Sting. This can potentially skip a heal and save time. If you don't have exactly 16 special after this fight, reset.
    • PP strats: Always Growl Weedle on turn 1 unless you somehow already used all 4 Growls you were meant to.
15. PP strats: Fight another encounter unless you fought a level 4 on Route 1. Fight encounters until you have 16 Tackles and 36 Growls. At some point you want to swap Leech Seed to the Top, Tackle to the Second Slot and Growl to the 3rd Slot. You want to be exactly level 8; be careful not to get level 9 if the encounters don't cooperate.
    • Race strats: If you do accidentally get level 9 and want to keep going, grind to level 10, but remember that you must still finish with the correct remaining PP, so you will probably want to use the Pewter Pokémon Center when you hit L9.
16. PP strats: If you didn't shop in Viridian, go to Pewter Mart and buy 1 Poke Ball, 1 Paralyz Heal and 1 Awakening.
17. Switch your menu cursor to SAVE, then Brock Skip. (Example Video)
18. Walk to Route 3, then walk back to the right of the Brock Fan.
    • PP strats: Open your Pokémon Menu and talk to him.
    • Pidgey strats: Talk to him.
19. Now, you will be able to walk through walls. Walk all the way to Saffron City, avoiding Doors and Out of Bounds Areas.
    • Pidgey strats: Hold B during the movement so your menu doesn't open.
    • One possible movement: Right until past Shorts Kid, up one, right until near the last grass patch before Mt. Moon, up until level with the lowest ledge on the right wall, right until a corner in the type of tile below you (you will pass two tiles below the Route 4 grass patch if you did it right), down after rounding that corner (pass phantom gym along the way), right when level with the Saffron Pokémon Center door.
20. Heal at Saffron Center, and walk to Celadon.
21. Walk to the most left Building on the bottom row of buildings, and get the Coin Case by talking to the guy in the top left corner.
22. Exit the Restaurant and walk to the Game Corner. Talk to the Guy with Glasses to get 20 coins, then walk 2 steps up and press A to get 100 coins.
23. Exit the Game Corner and head to the prize Building. Talk to the left guy and buy an Abra.
24. Exit the prize corner and teleport back to Saffron and enter the Center.
25. Deposit Bulbasaur (and Pidgey if you have it) and leave the center, head south to route 6.
26. Trainer-Fly on the Bug Catcher in the Grass.
27. In the menu that you open to do the trainer fly, swap whatever's in your 5th item slot with the Coin Case.
28. Walk all the way to the Dojo and fight the first trainer. (Make sure he walks to you).
29. Keep using Teleport until you faint. Menu Flash (open and close the menu), and walk back to Route 6. Encounter Missingno and run away. Missingno has bad speed so you don't have to worry about not outspeeding it.
30. Trainer Fly again, but toss two of the items in the 6th slot first.
31. Walk to the Dojo again, faint to the Trainer. Menu Flash again, and walk back to Route 6 again.
32. Flee from Missingno. and walk down into the gatehouse below you, but don't move once inside it.
33. SAVE HERE IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF THE GLITCH COMING UP!!!!
34. Swap the 255 Item Stack with the third item slot and toss the item you just swapped for it.
35. Then toss your first item four times - the last couple will be tossing 255 but don't worry about that. You should end up with at least three stacks of 255 of the same item.
36. Toss all but two of the top stack (so you toss []3 aka 253) so you have 2, 255, 255 as your first three items
37. Now swap the first stack with the second stack twice in succession. This brings you from "1 item" to "-1 items" and underflows your inventory.
38. Scroll all the way down through your newly underflowed inventory until you see an item slot which is "[]j. x[]9". Swap it with a stack of 0 Ultra Balls located 4 slots below it. (When scrolling down, there may be some glitch items which require you to press B before you can keep scrolling through them.)
39. Toss exactly 11 from the newly moved item stack.
40. Swap that stack with the stack of 17 Master Balls located 4 more slots down.
41. Close your menu and then immediately hold up to walk out of the gatehouse. If you did it right, you'll appear in the Hall of Fame instead of Saffron City!
42. 'Official' RTA timing for this run ends when the screen fades out after you receive your Pokédex rating from Professor Oak. Enjoy the credits!
