Do you remember the Bite of 87? That's what this game is all about.

The animatronics and all the events in the main-game are believed to be nightmares, that the victim is experiencing while in a coma at the hospital, the result of losing his frontal lobe from the bite. Other things that hint toward this are objects that sometimes appear by the player's bed, such as a bouquet a flowers or a bottle of pills. Very rarely, a sound cue that sounds like a hospital flatline will play as well, further hinting at the idea that the victim is in a coma or critical condition. Apparently however, if what the Phone Guy from the first game said is anything to hint at, the victim is still alive. "It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?"

Cutscenes throughout the game reveal that you are playing as a child, the one who is experiencing the nightmares and trying to ward the animatronics off. They also reveal that he seems to be deeply afraid of Freddy and the animatronics in real life, and that he has an older brother who constantly bullies him, which includes putting on a Foxy mask, hiding behind furniture, and then popping out with a scream to scare him. The child is constantly crying throughout the game.

Eventually, the kid has to go the restaurant for his birthday party, but is bullied by his older brother and three of his friends, all donning masks. They eventually pick the poor kid up and bring him close to the stage, where Fredbear (believed to be the true name of Golden Freddy, and one of the two suits which double as an animatronic and costume) and Springtrap are performing. Then, this happens: (this video actually contains all the cutsences, but you'll know the birthday party part when you get to it)






The entire time, the Bite of 87, was not the act of a possessed or malfunctioning animatronic, but a freak accident, caused by four careless and cruel bullies, including one terrible older brother to the victim.

Nonetheless, the animatronics still seem to try and comfort the victim in the end, somehow.
