It's a much bigger mindgame, but that might be one reason I got myself more into it faster. It's always fun to mess with people's heads, although I'm not the best at that quite yet since I can be predictable. A few hundred hours in CS:GO helps with mindgames, since you have to be able to outstrat your opponent, but still.

What was the transition from CS:GO to Smash like? Going from SC to this was pretty straightforward, they're both fighting games that take place primarily on a 2d plane (though it does shift in SC). CS is entirely different, how long did the transition take?

It hasn't been terrible, since I played smash before for fun. (Grew up with a gamecube.) I wouldn't say I've fully transitioned over since I still do follow the CS:GO scene (Really hyped that C9 is doing well, NA finally getting the proper rep.) and play matchmaking from time to time. It's more of a thing of that they're entirely different games so it's not as so much a transition as it is picking up a new hobby.

Wouldn't have thought it'd work like that for you. Several of my own friends picked up Smash after playing different games (mostly speedrunners) and it took them forever.

That's probably because I just play a bunch of games in general, so I can switch between them easily. I can go back to a game like osu! after having not played it in months and be at my former skill within a week or so, because it's played differently. It's not hard to distinguish how to play a FPS from a fighting game, even moreso a rhythm game. Smash is also one of the two games I use a controller in even though it is possible to play with kb+m (The other being Dark Souls) so the controls being different already makes it easier.

Never thought about the controller having much of an effect on things. I use the GCC for damn near all games at this point, probably factors into the difficulty of transferring quite a bit.

I perfer M+KB for a lot of things, but there are games that are better for me to play with a controller. Fighters are the most part, dark souls is the other. It's two entirely different sets of muscle memory.

Lol but the real question is have you played Smash on a keyboard? It's hell till you get the hang of it, and once you do you never wanna go back.

I'd rather not try. I've been using a GC controller for so long that anything new is weird.

Have you really only ever played Smash with a GCC? I started off with sideways wiimote. Good times.

I've played with a 3ds/pro controller/wiimote, but my first smash was melee, so I've primarily used the GCC since then.

1 1/2, but yea, party hard. I guess. I'd rather not wake my parents up though.
