I'm a bit confused by the "Have you ever noticed how animals have never been in war?" statement. Because animals have wars just as much as we do.
Granted it's not guns blazing with nukes dropped, but it's not like they're completely at peace either.

Not really. If anything, war is a lot like survival. Only to not just yourself or a relative few. It's to fight in order to keep the country you love alive.
Likewise, animals fight for the many reasons we do. Turf, superiority, even mates. And often this leads to pack wars and such.
