Well what I try to do when I've been up for a long time late at night anyway, is to purposely stay up longer and try to remain so for the rest of the day.
Like I said, it leaves me more tired at night and therefore I'll be more likely to just fall right into sleep by that time. I'm not sure if that would work out the same way for you, considering you might have to focus on something significant on some days and being extra-tired might make that harder, but it has helped me catch up on my sleeping and schedule when I need it.
