Well TF2 runs on an engine called "Source." Gmod does as well. It's a sandbox game, with no objective, just a bunch of community made stuff that people can make as map courses to play through, stuff they can build, and ragdoll models that can be posed for scenes.


You can actually mount a few certain games made by Valve on it, like TF2, which is how you can get maps and models from games like that into it as well. Plus there's community made stuff, ranging from maps, weapons to NPCs and models.
