Biv's Super-Duper Character Predictions
Hello, and welcome to Biv's Character Predictions. I'll be updating this thread with new stage, item, and/or gameplay ideas later, but for now, let's just get the characters out of the way...
Characters
Mario Series:
Mario
CONFIRMED!
The heart and soul of Nintendo, Mario, is back for his 3rd time in Smash. Recognizable by gamer and non-gamer alike, Mario is probably the most popular video game character to date. With his appearance in Brawl, and his upcoming game, Super Mario Galaxy, the man with the mustache will have no problem staying in the spotlight.
Luigi
Since the GameCube's release, Luigi has quit standing in the shadow of his big brother. His starring role in Luigi's Mansion, and his important roles in the Mario & Luigi handheld games, along with the fact that he was one of the original 12 smashers, leaves no doubt that Luigi will be returning.
Peach
Peach is another Mario character that has recently showed their fighting spirit, in her new game, Super Princess Peach. Hopefully in Brawl, she will use a moveset based on her moves from this game, and ditch the godly-powerful moveset from melee. It seems that Peach is ditching the "damsel in distress" role, and is now increasing in importance in the Mario games. Simply put, Peach is practically guarunteed.
Bowser
CONFIRMED!
The main villain of the Mario franchise, the king of koopas is a shoe-in for Brawl. He appeared in Melee, and he's been important to the world of video gaming since Super Mario Bros. Hopefully his speed will be improved, and his power decreased, so that he doesn't suck. We'll almost definitely be seeing this villain make an appearance, and that doesn't need much explaining.
Geno
Replacing Paper Mario on my roster, Geno seems like a very highly supported character with a unique story and the potential for a good moveset. I'll be honest, I never played Super Mario RPG, so by no means am I a full supporter of this character. But from what I've seen, Geno looks deserving, so I'll be fine if he gets in.
Mario Series Total: 5
Legend of Zelda Series:
Link
CONFIRMED!
The hero of Hyrule is back, and he's brought his look from TP with him. The main protagonist of the Legend of Zelda series, Link was no surprise. Incredibly high reviews for TP are no surprise either, and hopefully he'll be just as awesome in Brawl as he was in his own game. His Final Smash is amazing, by the way.
Zelda
CONFIRMED!
Despite playing a minimal role in Twilight Princess, Zelda is still one of the main protagonists of the Zelda series. It is named after her, after all. Hopefully now that Sheik is nowhere to be seen, (and I'd bet money it's gonna stay that way) people will learn to use Zelda without the stupid transformation. Give her a new Down B, end of story.
Ganondorf
Although I have not yet beaten Twilight Princess, I hear the final boss battle is quite amazing. Of course, this is all thanks to the villain of the series, Ganondorf. Hopefully, instead of Nintendo making him a C. Falcon clone, they can give him his sword, and make him the only slow swordfighter in Smash. Ganondorf's appearance in the game is unavoidable, but then again, why would anyone try to avoid it?
Young Link (WW Style)
Let me get this straight: WW Link WOULD NOT be a clone of Link. Okay. Anyway, Wind Waker Link is a completely different Link than the OoT or TP Link, and he represents Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and the highly anticipated Phantom Hourglass. WW Link could use items froms Wind Waker, such as Deku Leaf, the Skull Hammer, and the Iron Boots. I don't know about you, but I certainly think it's better than the Young Link in Melee.
Wolf Link & Midna
Sigh...as much as I hate to say it, Wolf Link & Midna are practically confirmed. Don't get me wrong, I like the character, but I like Skull Kid a lot more, and 6 Zelda representatives? Not happening. Anyway, Midna was the brilliant, personality-filled fairy replacement. Her character develops throughout TP, and she is interesting compared to the fairies. She wouldn't have many moves on her own, so sticking her on the back of Wolf Link would be enough to let her show what she's got.
Legend of Zelda Series Total: 5
Star Fox Series
Fox
CONFIRMED!
The leader of the Star Fox team is back and ready to brawl. With his new look from Star Fox: Assault, and, hopefully, some weaker moves, he's sure to be an awesome and balanced fighter. But, the major question about Fox is: Who will be joining him?
Falco
Yes, I know, most people think he's getting replaced by Krystal, but I am not one of them. Falco was immediately my favorite character in the Star Fox series from the first time I played Star Fox 64. He's Fox's right-hand-man, and although he was absent in some more recent Star Fox adventures, he's still important enough to get a spot in Brawl. And against the arguement that he can only be a clone...one word: LUIGIFY.
Wolf
The anti-hero of the Star Fox series and the leader of the sinister Star Wolf team, Wolf is the only logical choice for a Star Fox villain. He's tried countless times to stop Fox McCloud, and he's been an antagonist in the series since the beginning. Hopefully his spot isn't robbed by other, newer villains, such as General Scales or Panther. Bleh.
Krystal

A newer addition to both the Star Fox Series and my lineup, Krystal represents every SF game since Adventures. She'd be the only staff user, and she definitely wouldn't just be another Fox clone. Maybe for a final smash she could use her bird-friend-thing from the beginning of Adventures?
Star Fox Series Total: 4
Metroid Series:
Samus/Zamus
CONFIRMED!
CONFIRMED!
The metroid hunter Samus Aran appears in two different outfits. First, she's fully suited up, Metroid Prime style, and she has a whole arsenal of weapons at her disposal. Second, she removes her power suit and becomes the nimble, agile, shiek-like warrior that is Zero-Suit Samus. Hopefully this will help better represent the Metroid series, along with my next character...
Ridley
Ridley. He's big, bad, and he's appeared in every Metroid game except for two. With a little resizing, and a Bowser-like moveset, Ridley could represent the Metroid series' villains, and add to the number of big characters in Brawl. Even the Japanese want him, and that's pretty friggin' impressive for a Metroid character!
Metroid Series Total: 3
Kirby Series:
Kirby
CONFIRMED!
The lovable pink puff, Kirby, is a veteran of the Smash series, and she's returning for Round 3. Kirby's starred in Canvas Curse & Squeak Squad for the DS, and games like these are the reason Kirby practically has a reserved spot in all Smash games. At least this time around, she'll have some friends from Pop Star joining her.
MetaKnight
CONFIRMED!
One of the more popular villains in the Kirby series, it's not much of a surprise that he's making an appearance in Brawl. The only surprise is that he was confirmed before King DeDeDe. Anyway, with MetaKnight's fast sword attacks and awesome jumping abilities, he just kinda screams out, "HIGH TIER!" to me.
King DeDeDe
The long-time villain and king of DreamLand, DeDeDe is one of the most requested characters for Smash. He's practically confirmed already, seeing as it would be insane if he wasn't in the game. Using similair moves to Kirby, the king would be a heavy hitter with slow running and average jumping abilities.
