BIG problem with the new edge spotting

Now that everyone has finely observed that the game auto-sweetspots the ledge for you, and that invincibility frames for ledge have been somewhat confirmed, il prove that this system is very ABUSABLE.

Ok now say i use Ike, he has a marth like recovery, which its with the tipper, if i am correct, if i am wrong assume i use someone who has marth style recovery and a long sword.

You try to edgeguard me and get near the edge, now i up and hit you with my tipper,i hang on and all i do is down up b non stop very fast, i have invincibility frames illimited and it is very easy to do compared to say falco upb ledge invincibility which has flaws because it is kinda slow, but now it always sweetspot so u dont even have to press jump in between, just down then up b. Some characters could greatly abuse of this i think personnaly.

If you think orthewise or wanna discuss about it, just post!
I suggest we call it airstalling

Ahhh.... after reading it a second time I understood what you meant. I see what you mean, that DOES pose a problem. However, how do we know that Ike's sword could reach past the ledge's graphic and hit the opponent? It's possible that now you can't do that, but, this we'll have to wait and see for.

As for abusing it, yes, that IS possible with what we've seen and if the sword COULD hit the opponent through the ledge's graphic then ... definitely a cheap tactic.

Is this the revelation of the first new advance technique??!? IF so id like to name it airstalling since its really different than ledgestall since u could attack with it.

Well, yeah, somebody's bound to try that. If I were in a situation where someone was being that cheap, I would sit just out of their reach and mock their cowardice. In fact, I'd have one of my taunts say "You Coward" just for that occasion. You know why? Because if I could get them off the edge in the first place, why should I bother letting them get the better of me with such a desperate tactic? "Get off that ledge and bring it punk!" You get the picture.

And timed matches? We have time limits in tourneys nowadays...

They've banned the majority of infinite stall tactics. If this turns out to be true, I wouldn't be suprised to see it banned from tourneys, too. =P
True, but the point is, it stops any edgeguard possible from when the opponent grabs the ledge, unlike now where you could use long rang such as marth fsmash to get im out again

Id like to know you guys favorite name for this.
Either Airstalling since you stall in the air and all
Or the swordgard since you guard yourself and it usually is best with people with sword sinc you can range it alot?

And i really think this could be an abusive edgeguard since you dont even have to worry about invincibility anymore.

I'm sure there's other problems in there somewhere. Like edge invincibility now carries over to subsequent grabs, so if you grab the edge several times in succession you lose your invul frames. Still, a scary thought.
