So I've been watching SSB 64 online matches and one thing I noticed was that most of the people aren't using the better video plugin, so I thought I would share it. Two reasons to get this is because you can see your hand cursor and the shield doesn't look like paper :). One thing I didn't like, but got used to, is that some of the characters are a little bit of.(Mario has a brown nose, kirby shoes aren't red, ness' first color has puple clothes, luigi's first color is a little more greener), but thats about it. Download it here http://www.mediafire.com/?dhgkw6d4ohd4a2v Just place it in your plugin folder, open project 64, go to options , settings , and then change your video plugin to Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6
Have Fun!!!!!:colorful:

You guys just need much better graphics cards and you should be able to handle these newer plugins. Glide64 is still a bit buggy, but I don't consistently lag on it like a lot of other people do. And I'm on a 2.8ghz single core and an 8800gt.

3D8 does not show invincibility frames is a huge attention *****. Dragging a window in front of it, dragging pj64k itself, or even having steam notification pops up can cause pj64k to crash or even blue screen your computer. It's a garbage plugin.

Glide NX Napalm or w/e it's called is much better. It has much better compatibility in windows 7 and it shows the correct graphics along with invincibility frames, is much more stable without crashing midgame, and even has a small feature that shows what % speed the game is running at.

That happened to me before, but for some reason it got fixed eventually, maybe due to a video card driver update. I realy have no complain at all besides the invincibility frames thing.
And is the glide napalm really that good and fully compatible with vista too? link to download plz?

I don't understand how people can lag on glide64. My computer sucks and I can run it just as smooth as any other plugin.

How many CPU cores does pj64/k support?

I'd assume only one. Not many programs can utilize multiple cores (or have a need to), and the ones that do are generally video editing software.

Except for frickin' Grim Fandango. The game wants to run on two cores, but that causes it not to work, so you gotta go apply a **** affinity mask to keep it on a single core.

love that game so much, on my first runthrough i used up the skeleton arm, played through again, forgot to save, used up the skeleton arm again, and still played through it the third time happily because it's that freaking good (and its an adventure game, which means it has approximately 0 replayability)

still can't figure out exactly what im supposed to do on the bottom of the sea to grab the light

I got directed to the page for that game once when I was clicking "random article" on Wikipedia. It looked pretty cool. Small world, huh?

IDK if Glide64 lags my computer, because I can't even open it in the first place. If I open a ROM with Glide64 selected, PJ immediately crashes while loading.

jaboo3d8 is much worse, I somehow lag more on the 3d8 compared to Glide now

the bsod/freeze glitch is way too annoying for Jab00 and Glide just seems to run better on my computer

it usualy occured when I accidentally moved the window while playing.

I also had a simple graphics glitch (black screen for a second) if I opened a window on top and went back to the game too quickly
