Better to not fast fall w/pika?

I've seen a lot of vids where the pikachu shff to do a n/fair, but it seems better to not ff, because you dont get any lag when you land, i just want the general consensus on if its better to shff or just sh.

Well it depends, I fast fall the fair about as much as I don't fast fall it, FF'ing it seems to be better for combos where as not ff'ing it seems to be better for other stuff, getting them off the stage maybe, not really sure. But I will tell you that the last hit of the fair is the one that knocks them away, so without that hitting you can combo them with fair -> utilt -> thunder even at really high percents.

That's really a good question. I think if both you and your opponent are in the air, fair tends to combo into jump->bair. If you fast fall it, it combos into uair.

Note also that fastfalled fair often combos into utilt. I think for brawl, since you can't lcancel, the downair should generally be fastfalled IF YOUR OPPONENT IS ON THE GROUND. This is because there is a final weak surge of energy released as Pikachu hits the ground. If you are both in the air, I'd avoid the fastfall because the attack will send them sideways; less lag is preferable to keep pressure on them.

I have no idea about upair. Nair is stronger fastfallen, but it is shieldgrab-able if they are on the ground. Backair is pretty hard to shieldgrab since it lasts for 3.14 years, and in their whiffed grab, you can dsmash them. I always fastfall bair.

Well if you space the bair right, they shouldn't be able to grab you during your lag. The bigger characters, at least. Pikachu's too short.

all pikas aerials except bair auto cancel if you do then fast enough.
i always fast fall fair because it combos into usualy 2utilts 2upairs and then so on
i dont fast fall any of the rest because i want to auto cancel them
