Better Illusion - Immediate Aerial Phantasm

If you do an illusion on stage you have pretty much recover lag.
So what I tried was to perform a SH and then an illusion. Is this just my imagination or is the recovery time shorter than on stage?

What happens exactly:
1. SH
2. Just before you land (~5 inches) do an illusion. Be carefull not to land.
3. illusion
4. falling/landing animation (shorter than normal illusion recovery?)

Can you help me out?

Faster and better. Falco's and Fox's have been doing this for a while.

There is a noticeable slide, and less landing lag.

When I illusion, I will always lift myself off the ground just a tad and get the less laggy landing and even slide farther. Yes it is more practical to do it this way.

Yes it is better. But never use illusion offensively, 4%.
