Best Week of Updates

I think this week has been the best week of updates yet. There have been good weeks before, such as the week of July 30th, when newcomer Ike (cool), the Castle Seige stage (more cool), and the revamped one-player mode Subspace Emissary (mind-blowing!!!) were revealed. Also, Last week, of August 13th, newcomer Pokemon Trainer (unexpected!!), Devil Assist Trophy (intersting), collectable stickers (revealing), and Peach returning (finally) made a very good week as well.

However, I contend that this has been the best week of updates. Firstly, a full list of Link's updated special moves. Previous special move updates I think have only included two moves at most. Then a new Supspace Emissary movie (always welcome), followed by newcommer Diddy Kong (vindicating the fans), and a double update today of Yoshi's awesome old-school Final Smash (a pleasant surprise) with the Animal Crossing music has almost spoiled the Smash community.

Each of the previous weeks can be headlined by one update, be it Pokemon Trainer, or Subspace Emissary, but this week's have been chock-full of goodness with no real disappointments, which usually happens after one great post.

Sakurai and co. have taken us all along for a trip, and by now we like to believe we know, or at least can expect what will come, be it stages, secret 3rd party characters, an elaborate one-player story, etc. But is Sakurai holding onto one last Ace? Some super-secret mode/character/extra that no one even thinks is possible? Or do you guys believe Sakurai is cranking up the gear two months too early? And will the week finish strong tomorrow?

dude, what the hell are you talking about. he never said he could predict the future or anything of that caliber, he is just excited from a week full of promising updates (as am i). as for the thread topic, i agree and feel this has been one of the best weeks for updates yet, and no i dont think its too much information too early, i mean the game comes out in like 3 months and there is plenty of time to fill up the dojo with lame and stupid updates that have to do with gameplay that smash vets are already quite familiar with imo.

i also notice that.......... and im wondering what is up with this month? im not complaining mind but.............. we got Excellent updates all this month and we are not even done yet...... we got Adventure mode updates, 3 BRAND NEW CHARACTERS, updates on stages and final smashes and great mode and item updates.......... jeez compared to this month people are going to complain about the updates next month (if they are not up to par with this month) when we got ALOT of great info....... wow just wow anybody who didn't keep up with the updates on this month so far are going to be very surprised.

oh well this month rocks! (some people disagree with some updates because they didn't like it but hey the rest of the updates this month make up for it)

Also the great updates started on the first of August........ so i wonder if they are going to continue with the updates like this (i want them to but i doubt it will happen)

there are only like 15 weeks roughly till brawl, thats abt 75 updates, i think hes got alot more then 75 snippets to reveal, i mean come on, there have to atleast 50, if not many many more, assist trophies, you no? he has to pick up the slack since all our previous updates before ike were poop

For this to be the best week ever (or best week so far, for Mr. Nitpick over there), all I need is a brand new stage update for tomorrow to round it out. It's been far too long since we've had one of those.

These are definitely very epic updates of information for Brawl. Its almost making me feel dirty for seeing all of this information. This has been thus far a great week though... and I especially love most of the music updates... (if I never heard the songs before hand the updates kind of suck..). Loving it. can't wait till tomorrow's.

Things like that make me love community spirit ^__^... or ... something... just posting. Speachami, you really need to be more careful in comprehending well typed and thought out posts and at the same time get better at understanding how to give your input in such a way that if you're really posting "Sarcastically" it can be understood as such =P.

Any week with Olimar or Mach Rider announced as playable will automaticly become the best. But as this is yet to happen/might not be on the site because they are secret characters/might not be in ... I would say the "this world" week was the best. I say this because it caught me off guard, looked dramatic, was eerily vauge, and BLEW MY MIND.

"This World" was the only update that I double checked was real, and made give out a weird squeal of excitement that scared my friends around me as they watched me shake violently (they are not Smash fans like me so they didnt think it was in the least bit awesome... )

I'd like to point out that he said it was the best one yet, not ever. Meaning he was referring to this week and all the weeks past, not future weeks. Also, when people don't get your sarcastic comments, it's probably your fault. There are two ways to tell if a comment is sarcastic: verbal tone and wording. Since you can't speak in a forum, we have to go based on your wording, and your wording did not indicate sarcasm IMO.

I agree with TC, this week's updates were EPIC. My favorite was Diddy Kong and tomorrow's update can be only more epic. Be it a stage update, a veteran character update, or an update caused by the Games Convention in Leipzig Germany it will or should be epic!

And about this week. I must agree. To think that the "most of the time" great friday update hasn't even been shown. Anything Bowser, a never before seen newcomer, a veteran, or a never before seen stage on friday would make me cream badly.

I would say either this weeks update, last weeks, and the June 18th-22nd. Why for that? We had two final smashes, Wario, Fox's special movies, and a stage. I, for some odd reason, enjoyed that week.

Yeah, the single best update is still the Subspace Emissary, but what kind of updates do you guys consider make up a good week?

I like stages, new character reveals, and movies. The Final Smashes are mostly good, since they epitomize the featured character with their most amazing, awe-inspiring move. But some moves are underwhelming, like Pit's and DK's. The Assist Trophies so far have been good enough, but the normal items and music updates, which may be good, but just don't seem enough on their own to measure up to the other updates.

"How to Play" updates seem really patronizing.

"Hey kids! You move by tilting the control stick left or right."
~See Pikachu move across the stage!~
"But what happens when you tap the control stick harder?"
~Wow! He's fast!~

Well, a good update usually consists of good screenshots, the unexpected factor, and the interesting part. Sakurai has been mindgaming everyone in the last three weeks, I'd say that's enough to say the lot of these updates have been good. The screenshots are also wonderful things to see and the surprise that awaits you every morning (or at night, depending if you stay up for the updates) is just breathtaking.

You're missing the point. It was completely unexpected, to me anyway, to get a brand new Newcomer before finishing the obvious veterans and Metaknight. Yeah we got Pokemon Trainer, he was unexpected, but the rest of that week sucked. Yeah this week is awesome with Diddy Kong, but by now I've come to expect new Newcomers since, you know, we've gotten two already in a short period of time.

A good week update, to me, would have a return of a veteran character followed by either thier special moves or final smash. However, a final smash alone is amazing too (ex. Yoshi). Just as good is a new character confirmation update with intresting screenshots. Items are intresting but I can do without them. I always enjoy a good Subspace update. However, I would like to know more about the pokemon that are returning. I also like stages, assist trophies, and music.

So on a average week: some type of character confirmation, a new stage, subspace entry, final smash or special moves, and an assist trophy/pokeball is good to me.

I personally can't wait for a update of a video that has showed everything we have seen thus far but as a video. All the final smashes in action and all the characters we have seen since the last trailer.
