1. Why couldn't they just add one more stat point to Charizard, Typhlosion, and Infernape?
2. Why couldn't they make Blaziken's stat total be 534 like the other Fire type's?
3. What makes Sceptile so cool that it has 5 more stat points than the other Grass types?
4. What makes Swampert so cool that it has 5 more stat points than the other Water types?
Answer to 4 - Because they tried to make Swampert own, and they did a good job.

it would be either charizard or swampart imo.

charizard is fire/flying which makes it resistant to ground. not to mention it's versatile movepool.
swampart is ground/water which makes it absorb electric. but x4 weakness to grass. still has really good stats.

I dunno about that first line...Back in the days of 1st gen, Mewtwo and Alakazam were on every team...being part poison was about the dumbest thing a starter could be. Otherwise:

1st: Charizard
2nd: ...I don't care, really...
3rd: Swampert

That must mean Spiritomb is the best Pokemon because it has no weaknesses.

Actually, until it reaches level 24, Piplup/Prinplup, it doesn't have any good attacking moves.

I meant on the bases that they're all fairly balanced with useable movepools and with 10 on base stat total.

If I could start with any pokemon, personally, I'd start with one the the hydropump bagons I hatched.

yes charizard is the coolest looking, I'll give you that, especially when he's shiny, but I'd say the overall best is swampert.

But the GSC starters are horrible. (feraligatr's cool, but...)

Yeah, I just think the water types always have the strongest start. Fire and Grass always had a weakness at the beginning of the games.
