I remember how stoked I was after I saw Metaknight perched ontop of the Battle Ship Halberd in the E3 3006 trailer! After I saw that newcomer, I knew we were getting a BRAND NEW GAME!
Ever since that trailer, along with getting Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Wario and Snake, we got more Veterans and Newcomers confirmed for Brawl, most of which stemmed from the Dojo...oh the Dojo. It has become part of my daily ritual to wake up early and just check the update of the day. It's a shame that it will be obselete in a mere few days, but something better, much, much better awaits!
What did the Dojo give us though that I and most everyone appreciated so much? That my friends was the "Warning, Challenger Approaching" banner. Every time I saw that I pissed my pants! We got so many AWESOME newcomers it's just great. We also got to see how are familiar veteran buds stood the test of time, and how they looked updated. So, here it is, my list of who is the coolest stud...and the lamest dud of the confirmed SSBB roster!
#25 Donkey Kong: He's finally back...and no one denied it! Well it's DK, the first member of his perverbially famous rapping crew. I don't know, I just don't like him...
#24: Zelda: Alright, this maybe a little controversial...Let me start off by saying I'm not a huge fan of Zelda, but I do enjoy Sheik. Zelda and Sheik on this list are separate characters (I listed Sheik because only an artard would think she's out...) I'm not a huge fan of Zelda's magic and how weak it is. You could try to buff her, but it's not going to get much better...
#23 Zero Suit Samus: One of the mor unique Smash additions was Zero Suit Samus (ZSS). There was much debate on how she would be implemented after being demonstrated at the E3 06 trailer. As it turned out, the lady with in came out after overloading Samus' power suit by using her Zero Laser Final Smash. Not by any means the most glamarous transformation, but cool in a sense.
What I don't like is just how un-necessary she is...Why would they put in a Samus dressed in spandex? Despite how some of us "feel" about ZSS, I think she isn't as cool as others.
#22 Yoshi: Mario's partner dino/lizard/dragon is back! He's not that different but no one expected him to be. He seems to be worse in terms of recovery, so he's lower on the list.
#21 Diddy Kong: Monkeys are cool, guns loaded with peanut are cool, Diddy Kong...is remotely cool! I wasn't surprised he was in, but I could have done without him. I like some of his moves, but his FS and side special are pretty lazilly done. Just not the coolest for me...
#20 Peach: I liked Peach in Melee, and I just thought she was portrayed perfectly for what she was. Could have done without the Toad move (for the record, I don't want him playable).
#19 Bowser: It's King Koopa, thank God he does not have the Clown Car! Again, another nicely portrayed character that is fitting for Smash. Who doesn't adore his Final Smash?
#18 Fox: The space pilot is back, and severely nerfed! I was always impartial about him, but he is cool, his moves are nice, and his series opens spots for more desirable and unique charcters (Krystal coughcough).
#17 Ice Climbers: Credit must be given where originality is present. The Ice Climbers were one of the more unique characters in Melee, and really opened the door for more off beat characters in Brawl. I'm not a personal favorite, but the other characters they spawned were really cool.
#16 Lucas: Psychich boys are awesome. That is why Lucas is cool! His moves are altered versions of Ness' which I personally liked. I'm assuming he will be better than his replaced counterpart (mwahahahahhahahahaha I said what I think) so I'm embracing him.
#15 Kirby: Surprised he is placed so low? Well, I like some of his new mechanics, but I'm just not that content with him in general. He is WAY over shadowed by his series newcomers.
#14 Sheik: Practically confirmed, the ninja variation of Zelda is very unique. She was the one who inspired the hole "transforming" part of Smash. She is just a cool character in general.
#13 Ike: Grr! I l was soooo into Ike for a while! I am disheartened on how he was portrayed as a slower character. Even in his native games, he was pretty middle-of the road if not that, pretty nimble. I still think he was a superb addition!
#12 Samus: The fighting armored babe from outter space is ready to Brawl. Her new model is cool, and her balance seems fair. Nicely portrayed.
#11 Wario: Surely a character that should have at least been in Melee, Wario makes his way into Brawl. Just seeing his motorcycle in the 06 trailer almost brought a tear to my eye...from laughter (not really at the waft, just laughing at Wario). This was a perfect time to implement him as he took almost all of his moves from the revolutionary Wario Ware games!
TOP 10 AHEAD!!!
#10 Pikachu: The electric mouse is with no doubt back in Brawl (sadly the same can not be said to his pre-evolved cousin).
#9 Meta Knight: This guy is pretty bad @$$ for someone that looks exactly like Kirby (granted he does where a sick mask). I'm not a HUGE fan of his neutral special, but that's all I dislike about him. Lets hope he isn't broken!
#8 King Dedede: Penguins are default awesome! What can be said about one with a gian mechanized hammer? I want him to make a good tier and be viable as a playble character. I would cry tears of joy if they put his 4 Kids VA!
#7 Pit: Icarus is here! I don't know what appeals to me about him (maybe because I'm Greek too?) but Pit is pretty cool. It's not looking like he will be my main, but I must play him first. Definitely one of my top playables though!
#6 Mario: His Brawl look is cool, he has the FLUDD (which I actually like) and he is shaping up to be quite the character.
OOOOOOH THE ELITE TOP 5!!!
#5 Snake: Paving the way for other third parties, spawning sooooo many ridiculous character requests, Snake's announcement was awesome. At first I wasn't that keen about him, but I can't wait to use his weapons of ordnance (oh he got some BACK!)
#4 Link: His TP look in Brawl is sweet! The implementation of his moves is sweet! He also got a buff, so what else do you want?!
#3 Sonic: Everone's favorite blue blur FINALLY came into a Smash game! Pople thought about his appearance since 64! Finally, since Sega is just a developer, his appearance was possible. I'm very bummed out by the fact that he has 2 spinning moves, but I can deal with that (I wanted the bounce attack btw). I love the spring too so, just saying that Sonic is amazing!
#2 Pokemon Trainer: Why do I love him so? Well, becaue I love Pokemon, I love originality, and how bad @$$ is it to be playing as Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard as once? His mechainic is similar to Sheik's but he has the stamina element which allows for a more balanced style of play, and a superior meta game. This guy can only be mastered by the elite!
Here it is **keys in drum roll** the BEST SSBB INCLUSTION...
#1 Pikmin and Olimar: Take what's great about the Ice Climbers, Sheik and PT, elaborate on it, and voila, Olimar is the result! He was my number one requested character, and he finally burst onto the scene! I fear that his eccentric gameplay is too much, I mean 2 of his moves are there to set up on move. That's three moves focusing on him throwing Pikmin, but we must play him to draw conclusions. Regardless, he is great, super and amazing. Can't wait to see his stage, role in the SSE and more!
P.S. (Emperror Bulblax for AT).
Post your list, share in the fun! I'll be updating this as more characers are revealed!
