Best control setup for zapjump?

I never use this as a form of recovery in games because it is just to hard to pull off. I can do it maybe 50% of the time normally, and would like to make it my main way of recovering. Watching videos I notice that no one else recovers that way with Lucas either. Why not? It is just too hard in the heat of battle? What is the best control setup to pull of the zapjump most reliably then? Assume bstick is already in. Right now I just have tap jump on and use that with a bsticked fire to do it. Basically I move two sticks in different direction at the same time, does anyone use the button jump instead to do this or something else?

When I feel like zap jumping I claw it to press Y and B at the same time. I don't B-stick. It's not very hard for me but I don't find a lot of situations where I need it in battle. I think it's kind of annoying to do with the b-stick because every once in a while I do diagonally on accident and get a PK Freeze but that's just my own issue. I'm obsessed with PK Thunder so I don't often use zap jump for recovery. *shrug*

I dont like to use the shoulder buttons since they take a while to preess all the way down and throw off my timing. Z however, is as simple to press as any other button and makes Zap jumping a breeze.

i use the classic controller, B and A both have their own jump button right next to them and it's very easy to just roll my thumb

This is what I do as well sometimes, although I usually mess up and just fall XD

Take your right thumb off the C stick, and put it on B. Then take your R finger and put it on Y. Easy this way =D
