Hey hey...Bermudian smasher Miggz (Miguel) here. First off, sorry for the triple posts in my last entry. I have to get use to not posting so **** much, my bad people. Anyway, I decided to post two fights today and I require some advice. The two fights are against Marth's most annoying foes, Peach and Sheik. I find Sheik allot more annoying, but I digress. The first match is my match with Peach. There aren't many good Peach players on the island and the one I am fighting in the first match doesn't take the game too serious like ROK and I, but I think he is ok. The second fight is with ROK who is a skilled Sheik. So for both fights, can you please critique my approach in both matches? I play well in both matches...but a bit of advice on how to improve my approach against these two pains would be great. Thanks.

Man I wish some cool smashers would come to Bermuda for a visit...and a match. ^^;

I only watched the shiek one. You have a pretty good marth. The only thing I could point out is that you dove into her with aerials sometimes, not that you did it often, its just vsing a shiek player you want to space as most as you can because they can rly pwn you with some nasty combos once you get too close. Besides that it looked well, you have a fairly safe style, keep it up.

Hah, you know ROK told me the exact same thing, almost word for word. Thanks for the advice. I shall work on my spacing a bit. ^^

Ok just watched the Peach vid. I have to say I believe you did a better job handlin the peach. You rly abused her floaty ways with yur multiple Fairs and Semi Forward Chaingrabs. I like how you ended one Cg early into utilts and fairs. You also did a very great job punishing her missed Dsmashes. (I believe you got 2 kills from her missin em and you Fsmashin) Nice job with that quick Fair>Dair KO at 30%, I bet that was heart breaking. I dont rly have any tips at all..you did too well.. Ill just say spacing =p.

Spaced Shdf's don't work too well against sheik because when she crouches, it's a whole different story in terms of spacing. I'd say just do single, fast falled fairs if you want to approach sheik that way. Learn to space your double fairs as to not keep moving forward. Pull backwards and use the c-stick for the second fair.

A lot of the time, it seemed like you were just throwing out aerials into nothing. This shouldn't be done *ever*, especially against fast characters who will own you with a grab after the first fair. The sheik player noticed this and started dash-attacking you after your aerial. I think you missed a few grab opportunities though, which are essential in this matchup. Other than that, you've got things like dtilt approach and utilt **** down, so you know what you're doing for most part.

In the Peach vid I noticed that at :34 you Baired when a Fair would have worked much better (My guess was that you screwed up with the buttons)Also at some point during that match, I forgot the exact time, you used a Nair when returing to the stage. This, in turn, led to your death. I suggest that if you're going to attack while returning to the stage that you use a Fair rather than a Nair because the Nair animation takes longer and may cause you to not grab the ledge.
The last thing I want to comment on, and this is for both vids, is that you seem to constantly attack. Not that being offensive is bad by any means, but IMO you should switch things up and occasionally let your opponent come in for the attack because he/she will probably read you at some point and just WD out of your attack's range and counterattack with a smash or aerial if you conform to a pattern of constant offense. Especially Sheik because of the speed of her dash attack.
But, overall, your Marth is pretty good. Just remember to always strive for improvement.

@ LaserBust: Thanks again for the positive feedback. I'm glad you liked my style. I was kind of nervous in that fight, which is why I made a few odd mistakes in that match. But yes, I guess it did end pretty well. And yeah, not many Marth players end Cg early, and link with aerials, I figured I'd give it a shot. So I'm quite touch that you noticed that...makes me happy. As for the Ken combo, I'm glad I got that recorded...I don't do it too often. Thanks again for the comment, means allot. ^^

@ FrostByte: Ahh yes...single fairs sound like a plan. I admit that I lack single fair game, so I would need to do more single fairs in the future. So thank you for pointing that out...I'll be sure to get right on it. Plus I'll be sure to be less aggressive and not throw out aerials all the time like that. :chuckle:

@ Sope: Yeah that was a very foolish//rare mistake on my part, so was the nair death. I still can't figure out how I done that. That has never happened to me before, hopefully it was a once in a life time thing. And yes...you aren't the first to take note on my aggressive side. I gota learn to be more patient and allow my foes to come to me every now and again. Thanks for the positive feedback bro, I'm glad you think I have a good Marth. :)
