G&W seeks to use safe ranged attacks to approach offensively.
G&W has trouble with characters who can maneuver around or outprioritize his disjointed hitboxes. He also dies very easily vertically.
-Aerials have extremely high priority while being nearly impossible to punish.
-Smashes are extremely powerful for their speed.
+All throws but d-throw mediocre.
+Down-B made worthless by lag.
- Increase ending lag on all smashes--leave IASA speed intact.
- Reduce damage for bair.
- Reduce knockback for fair and dair.
- Do not allow Up-B to auto-sweetspot the edge.
- Reduce Down-B damage multiplier to 2.0.
+ Increase damage of f-throw, b-throw, and u-throw.
+ Reduce ending lag of successful Down-B.
+ Remove 60% cap on Down-B power.
This altered Game & Watch is much like the old one, but with less reward for his low-risk options, and his excellent recovery must now be spaced properly to avoid punishment when recovering low. His smash power and speed still allow quick KOs however, and the bucket is now a VERY viable option against energy projectile users. Smart players will always try to escape the d-throw, so the other throws have been increased in damage to compensate.
