Hey guys, I was thinking...
What if, together with the online systems, come things like...
Bans (GM is your ex, say bye bye to online battles)...
Pop-ups asking for updates...
Selling characters, items...

1. Make a new account, don't give it out to your ex.
2. No such thing
3. G3t pr3mium n0b.

Online is expected to be awesome, for me anyways.
I don't expect any of the above.

Have you ever played a console game online before?

If not, fair enough.
If you have....

Anyways, GMs don't normally exist, if they do it's only for a single game server, and I think you can live without one server.
Popups will never, ever happen. If this game does have updates, it will only force you to update before/after a match, not during.
They wouldn't sell things that are important to gameplay.
If anything was ever sold, it would be something similar to the rare, Helmetless Samus or Mario+Yoshi trophies, things that are only used for cosmetic purposes.

So the chances that.

You AND your ex play Smash Brothers, saying you're a female and male.
The male is the GM.
He feels angsty cause you cheated on him for his newborn puppy.
Bans?

Make a new account. Records aren't saved, there is no ranking system, probably won't even be any GMs around in the first place. And anyway, what are the chances of that? >_>

Pop ups on the Wii?

Selling characters, items? You mean selling a Level Same-As-All-The-Other-Marios-Out-There Mario and a replica Super Scope? D=

What the heck are you talking about??? Questions based on random thoughts is basically pointless since there isn't anything to reply to, but I guess I'll try to enlighten you with my own random crud...

Bans: If there is such things as GM in Brawl, there would be more than 1... At the very least 10 (not to grandly updated with big MMOs)... Probably similar to this forum, bans must have a backbone to why a person is banned (bad language, abuse, illegal stuff, etc.) and any bans can be reviewed by other GMs... A ban with no backbone will probably cause someone to lose their job as GM...

Pop-ups: If there is updates, they will tell you to update or else you may not continue on with what you are doing... Try going into your Wii Channel (Online shopping thingamerjig) without an update, they basically won't let you in until you are fully updated...

Selling Characters/Items: Seriously, WTF??? What does this have to do with Brawl in any way???

Behind you.
None of those fears have any amount of probability of happening. Zero.

No GMs in console games (usually, definitely not for Brawl). No popups, as Nintendo hasn't done it yet so why would they? Selling characters? No way....what?!

The only thing that you mentioned that might happen is the pop-up thing, but it definitely wouldn't happen in the way you've outlined it. At absolute MOST, when you try to get online without an update or something, it'll ask if you want to update or tell you that you have to to play online.

No biggy. Trust me, I've played the Wii online (Mario Strikers). It's good, loads of fun. Very little lag.
