At 0%, most of the cast after getting hit by Falcon's Bair undergo some sort of 'light hitstun'; basically they're stunned without being put in their tumble animation. Most people follow up the Bair with a dashgrab because of this. Turns out that if the opponent is hit near a ledge, they will actually be put into a tripping animation of some sort, where they stumble off the edge and fall straight down, like this.

After some experimentation, I found out that there's actually enough time for a guaranteed followup, if you're quick. (Roughly 50 frames, depending on how far away you are from ledge). You COULD just runoff FF Backair, but that's lame. We play the Captain, so maximum disrespect is mandatory. Go for the Downair. The timing is strict but Bair > Dair is guaranteed. It wont kill them at that percent, but it does set up a very good gimping opportunity. Your opponent just got spiked and is likely going to mash jump/upB asap. Use that to your advantage by doublejump > back/upairing them to interrupt it. You'll still be able to recover with upB after that, so don't be afraid to go for the gimp. If you're using Falcon's default UpB, you can use that too! Keep in mind that good opponents will probably tech it, though.

If you're feeling particularly manly, you can frame cancel the bair into a guaranteed knee towards the stage. Unless you have the custom UpB you will die (But who cares style points are the only ones that matter ;) )

Shulk is one of the easiest characters to do it on.

For some odd reason this doesn't work on Fox, Falco, or Rosalina.

Man, if you dair and they panic jump/upB, can you dair again?

Stomping their vulnerable ledge grab frame away repeatedly would be so awesome.

If the game runs at 60fps, then shouldn't 1/4th speed be 15fps, not 20? Also it seems like its really easy to get a guaranteed footstool off of this, which could lead into a dair trap if they jump.

Good catch, you're totally right. That would mean the punish window's around 50 frames, then.

They get out of hitstun before you do, but if they jump that gives you enough time to doublejump dair them again.

Hey Junior, I'm surprised you haven't thought of it with your love of their combos, but you can bair>footstool>dair in this same situation for a kill. It also works using pivot ftilt hitting forward, but the timing is insanely tight. Bair into footstool should work on a majority, if not all of the cast because you can just fastfall to their head.

Well whaddaya know. You're right, footstool > dair works. It sort of concerns me that there's a brief window where the opponent can act before the dair hits but if they do anything but airdodge they'll get hit by it and will just barely survive.
