Please correct me if I'm wrong.
In Melee, to my knowledge, it's impossible to turn around in the air. Meaning holding back or pressing back while in the air just moves you backwards, but maintains your facing direction. This makes performing back-airs extremely easy.
In Brawl, pressing back while in the air will turn your character almost instantly. Performing back airs in Brawl, therefore, is difficult.
In Project M, they corrected this, reverting air movement to Melee's version.
Is anyone aware of how Smash 4 will function? Changes like this almost literally make or break the game. Brawl is less enjoyable to play, in my opinion, in part because of mid-air turning. Obviously, I'd prefer if Smash 4 returns to Melee's ways. Thank you.

Pressing back in Brawl doesn't turn you around... The only ways to turn around in the air in all three are B reverses, getting hit in certain situations, and double jumping while pressing back as characters with more than two jumps.

I think he's talking about aerial control. Characters like Wario can reverse their momentum almost right away by holding the opposite direction.

From what I've seen it looks like Brawl.

Wow, I guess my memory is super wrong. Thanks for the clarification. I could have sworn it's how I described. Because a few months ago I played Brawl with my brother, then Project M, and the difference was extremely noticable. Lol. Now I wonder what I was noticing.

In Brawl you can turn around while running on the ground and then jump and you'll be facing the way you turned to. In Melee if you jump while you turn around during running you'll still be facing the same direction you were facing before turning around. This makes it really annoying and unnecessary stupid to turn around in Melee to perform quick back airs/fairs in the other direction.

Thankfully, in P:M, they made it like it is in Brawl.

I prefer the C-Stick for aerials, but that's beside the point.

I hope Smash 4 has some good aerial mechanics though!

I'd actually kinda like it if all Back-Airs turned characters around, allowing for a follow-up attack. Always kinda annoyed me that it wasn't the case.
