Ayra for Brawl

i know what you said earlier about jar jar type characters. *significant but not very well liked.* Sorry if i soundedl ike i only thought that story line importance was everything. I know its not. Probably should have worded it better. What im basically trying to say is that significance in the stor yhas some role but popularity has another role. That would be like adding one of the people you played as in pokemon as a character. *i think thats a decent example.*

yeah yeah we get it shes popular among japanese people, and FE 4 is comming to US WOOOOT!
but how does this matter to Ayra in Brawl?!

like Luke said, if there's 5 ppl from FE in brawl, (which is already highly unlikely), it would be the lords first, and it's very unlikely for a 2nd char from FE 4 to come other than Sigurd, (and even if there's a 2nd one, probably Celice)

my guess is that there will be 4 chars from FE tops in Brawl, or even 3, and trust me, Ayra's chance of getting it in the grand scale of things is very slim.

Ike Marth and another lord of some kind, mabey Sigurd at most, (3 blue hairs, how lame, probably not)

the closest for Ayra to be in is for her to be a suit for a character like I said before, mabey they will jame in all the female sword only users in the seires into one char, and Ayra might be a suit for it, but other than that her chance of getting in is as small as this dot.

You know,the same thing can be said for Ike as well.

Yatahyatahyatah...he was popular internationally,but does this matter for Ike in brawl?

Hey, another SNES Fire Embelm fan!

I like Ayra a whole lot, and would be excited if she got in, but I doubt it will come to pass. I'm more interested in seeing one or two non swordsman from Fire Emblem getting in.

Edina from FE 4
Lilina from FE 6
Zephidel from FE 6
Guenevere from FE 6
Ninian from FE 7
L'Rachal from FE 8

(I removed the FE9 characters because I have never played with them and thus have no opinion.)

Out of those that were earlier suggested, I think Ninian would be the most interesting. She could be a mystical character ala Zelda, and could use some ice attacks.

Guenevere would be interesting, but I'm not sure how she would fight. (I would assume that she would be magical) I think Lillina would be more interesting. Note that I haven't actually beaten FE6 yet, so maybe she does stuff that I'm not aware of. (Pleas don't confirm or deny any plot importance, I'm still playing through FE6)

Aideen from FE4, (I assume that's who Edina is) hmm...would someone like to elaborate on her? I mean she's just a healer (a good one mind you) that uses elementary magic upon promotion.

I still think that Ephraim would be interesting to use, even if his game isn't too popular in Japan. It's not my favorite either (FE4 and 6 are) but a lance user would be interesting to see.

Ayra from Fire Emblem 4, hello there. I'd like this character in. I would certainly not complain if she made it. Lemme have a reasonable look at why and why not.

YES to Ayra:

• Ayra is a pretty popular character in Japan. Wait, pretty? More like immensely.
• Sakurai said he wanted to include non-Lord characters.
• Swordmasters are arguably the best class in FE (I like Generals more, actually..). Though, you have to think if this is really relevant.
• You had skills in FE4, so it's easy to make an original moveset with her.
• Did I mention popularity? Don't forget they put in Marth because of his popularity.
• Sakurai said to take away Japan-only characters. But see, with Virtual Console, Nintendo might say, 'Put her in so we can hype Fire Emblem 4 on Virtual Console'. As they did with Marth and Roy (only to release the GBA/GCN/Wii games).

NO to Ayra:

• She's Japan-only. Sakurai wanted to take off the focus of Japan-only characters. Sakurai was given total freedom with Brawl, as long as Mario, Link, Pikachu and Kirby where in the game. So the Hyping-theory is pretty much negated.
• IF there would be a Fire Emblem 4 rep, it's probably Sigurd, the main character and one of Sakurai's favorites, apparently.
• Sigurd is on Sakurai's poll, not Ayra. The Poll means A LOT. Just look at the Hammer Bros. - they got on The Poll and made it from generic enemy to AT. Hell, Petey Piranha even made it to Boss because of The Poll. Not to mention Ike and Diddy being on The Poll four times.
• She's just not important enough in her storyline. It's more likely to put in, say, Micaiah, because she's the main character of her game.

In the end, I'd be suprised if Ayra made it. I'd love it, though, but that's just personal opinion.

Personally I'd love for the easy answer to the whole 'love of Swordmaster femmes' thing, I've yet to play 4 (so I don't know Ayra as well as my fav Mia, and I personally find Fir looks cuter), but I'd personally like the answer to be that if a Femme Swordmaster gets in, they just give her alt colors the costumes of whoever is missing. Mia who was on the poll and is fairly popular from 9/10 getting in... wait, Ayra thread, so let's say Ayra gets in somehow. Her Alt costumes could be:

Fir (FE6)
Karla (FE7)
Marisa (FE8)
Mia (FE9/10)

It'd pretty much give everyone what they want. However if any Swordmaster gets in I'd be happy, its my second favorite Class (my favorite was forsaken! I miss Berserkers!)

Ayra got better chances as an AT, because if she beats Sigurd... it will be an offense to the Fire Emblem fans, in some way.

I'd prefer to see Micaiah, possibly Eirika.

And well, the matter of "beautiful" is just taste, I don't find Ayra "beautiful".
