Automatic twitch livestream messages on The Galaxy

I got to the airport a few hours early before my flight back to NY today and had some time to write something quick.

Having some automated way to see what livestreams are going on makes it very convenient for viewers - a lot of game communities have started automatically linking to live streams.

I wrote a script that will send messages on The Galaxy whenever a stream is live. I plan to deploy it over the next couple of days. The bot (named "StreamBot") will check every 10 minutes to see if streams are active, and if they are, announce it in the server. This makes streamers not have to copy and paste the link over and over in the chat. (Special thanks to Ownasaurs who saved me a lot of time with his old Java Kaillera Client)

I hope this can encourage more people to stream.

If you would like your stream to be checked by StreamBot (even if you only stream once in a while), leave your twtich link here or message me otherwise.

I tried to set up a stream a while back but it wouldn't work. If I got help to set it up I'd stream all the time

more details on what problems you had would be helpful.

like are you able to record? IMO getting recording setup to work is much harder than hooking that into a stream (pretty easy IMO)

I will describe my problem in detail next time I try to stream, which will be after i get back from cali. I'll have my laptop actually, maybe you can see what i'm doing wrong while i'm there, or not.

I remember I could record myself, but it wouldn't connect to the website while showing the desktop or something. I was using something called procaster, which goes with livestream, and couldn't get it to work. Twitch is the way to go then?

I remember the first time I streamed, I had to run the program that came with my capture card, start xsplit and highlight the capture card window, and then broadcast to twitch. If I didn't do it in that order, only a black screen would show up.

Does your script announce all active streams, or just ones it hasn't already announced? If the former, please make it more infrequent than every 10 minutes.

Right now it announces all live streams that are currently running every 5 minutes. People aren't on for that long and log off and on pretty frequently. I don't think one message in the main chat is that big of a deal, but if you would rather not see them, you can always ignore the stream bot.

The timing is not set in stone though, so if people think it should be changed I can make some adjustments.

And yes, any forms of smash are welcome! Here's the list I have currently:

Can you add me to the list? I've been streaming a couple of times and lulz had to broadcast the stream for me on galaxy.
