Interesting (specially since my 3ds xl just got some dust stuck under the top screen and it's annoying me to no end)
But I'm most likely still going to wait till it comes in a special package (like the pokemon/zelda/smash/monster hunter/fire emblem/...) one

But it's most likely to work if it's the same situation as before since I just started my old smaller 3DS again (the dust thing kinda made me) and it did say that the e-shop worked for eu/australia.

Lying about my country.
Well, duh, they're both PAL systems.

Though I'm super confused on why wouldn't they just release them both on Australia and Europe at the same time. But I guess it's about time Australia didn't get completely screwed when it comes to game releases.

Well it's obvious that I didn't know they both use PAL, duh?

Oh my this is tempting. Like ReddFloxy I'm still planning to wait on a special packaging, but if they also get those earlier in Australia, I'll probably have to import.

I have a suspicion that it's so they can release it to a smaller market first. In that case, I'm not sure how shipping it from Australia would work out, because we have a terrible tendency to run out of stock of new gaming consoles.

So the N3DS XL would be €172.52 for me.

However, I'm pretty sure importing from Australia to Ireland would push that price up quite a bit.....

Also, if I got it from Australia, would the eShop now display everything in Australian Dollars?

The Republic of Ireland is not part of the UK and uses €'s, but Northern Ireland is part of the UK and uses £'s.
