Hi and welcome to the Marth Madness weeklies! These weeklies will be held at Showdown (I 7501 N University St #208, Peoria, IL 61614) every Sunday at 1 PM. We will have both Melee and Smash 4 set ups available. We will be hosting doubles and singles in both events (doubles will depend on total numbers).

-Please do not show up any earlier than (12 PM). I want to start as soon as possible.
-Please bring full set ups for both games! (HDTVS, HDMIS, Sm4sh, WiiU, all DLC, CRTS, Gamecubes, Melee, etc.)
-THIS IS A BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER EVENT.
-There is a $5 Venue fee
-$5 per singles event
-$10 for teams

Payouts
1st 60%
2nd 30%
3rd 10%


Melee ruleset can be found here:
-Game Settings: 4 Stocks, 8 Minute Time Limit
-Items are disabled.
-Stalling with moves such as Jigglypuff's Rising Pound or Peach's Wall Bomber is banned
-Glitches such as Ice Climbers’s Freeze Glitch and Mewtwo’s Soul Stunner are banned.
-Pause option is disabled in the game menu. If left on, accidental pausing mid match forfeits a stock.
-You may not choose any stage you have won on during a set, unless agreed by both players.
-A tie is determined by most stocks, and then if still tied, by percentage. If percentage is tied, the match is fully replayed.
-Playing as Master Hand is banned

Doubles Rules:
-Friendly Fire enabled
-Life stealing stocks from a teammate is allowed

Counter-Pick Stages:
-Pokemon Stadium [Singles Only]
-Kongo Jungle 64 [Doubles Only]

Match Procedure:
1. Players select their characters. Either player may choose to Blind Pick. In this case, each player secretly tells a third player their character before picking with the third player verifying their selections.
2. Players play Rock-Paper-Scissors. Winner chooses between selecting controller port or first Stage Strike
3. Players take turns removing stages from the Neutral Stages list above based upon the results of the previous rule. The first player to strike removes one(1) stage from the list, the second player removes two(2), and the first player then chooses from the remaining two(2) stages.
4. The players play the first match of the set
5. Winning player of the preceding match bans a stage from the full list of stages, both Neutral and Counter- Pick. Does not apply to Best of 5 sets.
6. The Losing player of the preceding match picks a stage for the next match. Cannot choose the stage banned in the previous step, nor a stage they've already won on during this set, unless agreed.
7. The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
8. The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
9. The losing player of the preceding match may change their controller port.
10. The next match is played
11. Repeat Steps 5 through 10 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete.

A. Game Settings:
2/3 Games (except for in Semi and Grand Finals which it's then 3/5)
Stock and time are set to 3 stock and 8 minutes for Singles and Doubles
Stock and time are set to 2 stock and 6 minutes for Amiibo (all stages are random omega)
Items disabled
Equipment disabled
Team Attack enabled
Custom Fighters are set to ON (you are allowed to choose from the ones already created which can be found here or import your own into the two remaining customs slots)
Custom Amiibo are allowed (moves and equipment)
Mii Fighters are legal. The only setups allowed follow EVO rules and are already created and are available for selection. Players are not allowed to transfer existing Miis to a setup.

Additional Rules

- Stage Striking: The player(s) with port priority strikes 2 stages from the Starter Stage list. Then the other player(s) strikes two stages and the remaining stage is used for the first match.*
- Stage Bans: After the first match (before player’s characters are locked in), the player who won the previous game bans 2 stages from either the Starter or Counter Pick lists. The loser of the previous game then picks from the remaining stages. This method continues throughout the set until it is over.
- Character Counter Pick: Winning player(s) is(are) not locked into the same character(s) for the next match, but has to pick before loser(s) selects character(s).
- Self-Destruct Moves: If a match ends with the successful use of a character's self-destruct move, the player that initiated the self-destruct move wins the match regardless of what the results screen states. Self-destruct moves include only Ganondorf's Side-B, King Dedede's Neutral-B, Wario's Neutral-B, and Kirby's Neutral-B.
- Team Colors: Players' character colors must match their team's color when possible, to avoid confusion (ex: Luigi on the green team must use the green costume).
- Hand Warmer: Hand warmer must not exceed one minute.
-Allowed controllers: WiiU Pro Controller, GameCube Controller, 3DS, Gamepad (if owner of WiiU allows).
