Attn Luigi Mains: Please Help Me In My Research Project

Hello everyone! I am currently doing a research project on Brawl for members of the smash lab. They have a couple ideas going around in there and I wanted to test a few of them out for myself. Therefore if you guys would not mind, I would appreciate it if you would help me out.

I would like you, since you know your characters better than I do (probably), to tell me in quick bullet points what the most annoying things for you to play against. I am talking about aspects of match ups that change how the match up plays out. Examples of this would be King Dedede’s standing infinite on Bowser, DK, Mario, Luigi, Samus and himself or grab releases like Marth on Ness/Lucas or Wario’s grab release shenanigans. Basically, anything match up specific where one character has a great advantage over the other character simply because of that move/moves. There’s plenty out there but I want to make sure I have them all! Please list them for me!

(I'm looking for chaingrabs, locks, anything like that character specific).

On thing that I find anoying is the ice climbers in general I can't grab them unless I destroy the other one. My luigi game relies a lot on grabs. That could just me my play stile though.

Gimping is a problem, all they need to do is 1) know aboutluigis recovery and 2) get us at the right moment.

Luigi's recovery is very susceptible to being gimped by any character with a good edgeguard game; especially while in the rocket animation. The characters that excel at edgeguarding Luigi are:

MK, ROB, DDD,Marth, another Luigi...

DDD's CG's and standing CG pose a huge problem. Falco's CG is really annoying but he can do that to most characters anyway, Falco's Lazers are annoying and can mess up Luigi's spacing as well.

Basically any character that excels at camping & has disjointed range (i.e Camping: Snake, ROB, Falco, Wolf) (i.e Disjointed Range: MK, Marth, Ike, DK) pose a problem for Luigi because of his lack of range. Luigi needs to get close and inside the opponent in order to win.

falco can't chaingrab luigi.

luigi has nair.
Wrong, Falco can get 1 CG in and then Pivot CG into the other one before ur N air comes out. I'm not TOO sure of this though only because it IS online... then again inputting the whole command to pivot CG is alot harder than just pressing the a button to N air. Therefore I'd have to lean on with the thought of this being pretty accurate...

I've had multiple Falco's CG me into a Pivot CG to follow up with D air or w/e they want to. Trust me I was pressing that a button to Nair pretty fast and no luck :ohwell:

theres time to jump out or nair or di or do somthing. falcos chaingrab doesn't typically work on a luigi, a good falco will follow it up with somthing else instead.

Luigi is slippery but hes not THAT slippery... Falco CAN CG Luigi... even if he has to do it differently than how he does it to the rest of the roster he can still do it.

i don't think so. i think theres a way to escape no matetr what. he can psuedo i guess. but.. be smart and who cares?

Of course there are ways to escape it when Luigi is above like what 10%? :laugh:

Not many falco's attempt to pivot CG Luigi anyway so lets not pay too much mind to this >_>
