Attempting to use a vBrawl only PSA in Project M

[DAT BOI waddup]

So,I've been trying to get a lot of PSA's to work,some work,like Shadow,some don't,like Goku. I would love if someone could tell me how to get it working,because everytime I try,the game just freezes when the announcer says "Go!" The character appears just fine,it just freezes at "Go!" If someone could help me,that would be gladly appreciated.
