This is my pathetic attempt at a Sandstorm team...

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Impish/Sand Stream
252 HP/252 Def/6 Atk
~Earthquake
~Slack Off
~Stealth Rock
~Yawn/Ice Fang
Sand bringer. Slacks to recover and sets up SR. Last move is either Ice Fang to hit EQ resisters or Yawn to force switch/put to sleep.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Impish/Keen Eye
252 HP/192 Def/66 Sp Def
~Roost
~Spikes
~Roar
~Drill Peck
Adds Spikes...begins Roaring...Drill Peck so Taunts (Gyara) doesn't stop me. Replenish health with Roost.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Quiet/Sand Stream
252 HP/188 Sp Atk/70 Spd
~Dark Pulse
~Focus Punch
~Thunderbolt
~Substitute
You all know TyraniBoah. (Right?)

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Calm/Torrent
252 HP/252 Sp Def/6 Sp Atk
~Surf
~Ice Beam
~Grass Knot
~Yawn
Special wall. Yawns to sleep foes or force switch for more SR & Spikes damage. Attack moves explain themselves.

Flygon @ Life Orb
Naive/Levitate
252 Atk/252 Spd/6 Sp Atk
~Fire Blast
~Earthquake
~Dragon Claw
~Roost
LifeGon is a godly sweeper after all the damage taken from SR & Spikes...EQ & Dragon Claw for STAB and Roost is for recovery. Fire Blast is to hit the Steels that attempt to wall me.

Scizor @ Leftovers
Jolly/Technician
252 Atk/252 Spd/6 HP
~Swords Dance
~Metal Claw
~Quick Attack
~X-Scissor
Now before you start yelling at me for whatever reason...this is here as a filler. I have Sideliners below that can possibly replace Scizor. Anyways, Swords Dance+Metal Claw+Technician=1337. X-Scissor for STAB and Quick Attack to quickly attack. Not the greatest coverage though...

Sideliners (mainly substitute sweepers)
--------------------

Lucario @ Expert Belt
Jolly (Timid)/Steadfast
252 Atk (252 Sp Atk)/252 Spd/6 HP
~Close Combat (Aura Sphere)
~Crunch (Dark Pulse)
~Bullet Punch (Dragon Pulse)
~Stone Edge (Psychic)
I can either use Lucario as a physical or special sweeper. The special sets are in ( ). All moves on both sets provide good type coverage.

Heatran @ Choice Specs
Timid/Flash Fire
252 Sp Atk/252 Spd/6 HP
~Overheat
~Dragon Pulse
~Flamethrower
~HP {Grass}
Stops Ice types from ruining the team. Overheat & Flamethrower are self-explanatory. Dragon Pulse for dragons and HP Grass hits Waters and Grounds for SE damage.

Claydol @ Leftovers
Calm/Levitate
252 HP/252 Sp Def/6 Def
~Charge Beam
~Cosmic Power
~Explosion
~Ice Beam/Grass Knot/Earth Power
Special wall. I don't really want it as a Spinner. Raise Def. & Sp. Def. with Cosmic Power, use Charge Beam to raise Sp. Atk. Explode when close to death.

Cacturne @ Leftovers
Jolly/Sand Veil
252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd
~Leech Seed
~Toxic
~Sucker Punch
~Seed Bomb
I probably not gonna use this set, but it can be a Water absorber...Toxic+Leech Seed+Lefties as a form of recovery, and Seed Bomb & Sucker Punch as STAB attacks.
--------------------
OK! That wraps up my first attempt at a Sandstorm team.
Comments? Tips? What I did wrong? (<-Mostly this one)

you're definitely gonna need a spinner

i tried a SS team without one, toxic spikes really hurt this team, turn claydol into a rapid spinner even though you don't want to, you will definitely need it

lucario should run choice specs and have the special moveset, pretty much nothing counters it and it can 2HKO a blissey with ease

heatran is fine, cacturne isn't fast enough to be good (let alone have decent defenses)

Ice fang over yawn on hippowdon, just so you don't get owned by flying types, other than that, fine

skarmory and ttar are fine

change the EV spread for Empoleon, he is running a much more attacking set than a stalling set, so remove some SP.DEF EVs and put them into SP.ATK (or replace ice beam for Toxic)

scizor can run BP, which would make your team so deadly, change it's EVs to be more defensive, then make it's moveset

BP
Sword Dance
X-Scissor
Aerial Ace

will just make your team own

definitely a decent team

I'd personally go Yawn> Ice Fang, cause Bronzong starters wall you either way, and I suggest a Lum Berry to take the sleep a lot of starters try to get out 1st turn. Slack off can make up for the lack of Leftovers.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Impish/Keen Eye
252 HP/192 Def/66 Sp Def

Whirlwind> Roost and Brave Bird> Drill Peck. Any specific reason for the Sp. Def EVs? If not, put them in Atk to help with Tauntados.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Quiet/Sand Stream

~Dark Pulse
~Focus Punch

*Sigh*
Let me explain something for everyone on smashboards: THE SMOGON SANDARD EV SPREAD SUCKS!!!
It is waaaay too slow for a mixed sweeper, even with Tyranitar's general bulkness. In Advance, we used a - Sp. Def nature(Rash) because it didn't have the special defense boost. Now that creates a problem: what do you take away from?
Obviously, Tyranitar isn't taking any EQs or CC's, so - Def would be the best way to go.
Focus on some attack EVs to OHKO Max HP+ Defense Blissey w/ Focus Punch: the current spread can do that. Give it enough speed to outpace 4 EVs Neutral Cresselia, so you don't get T-Waved. After focusing on those two points(and 252 HP for 101 subs), pour the rest into sp. Attack.

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Calm/Torrent
252 HP/252 Sp Def/6 Sp Atk

Fine

sweet =D

No U-Turn makes me sad, but fine.

I've always wanted to rant about Tyraniboah.
Nice flygon set, too.

No offense, but this really isn't a Sandstorm team dude. Only one of your Pokemon benefits from the Sandstorm. And no offense to ssj18 either, but the Smogon Tyraniboah set is fine. The purpose of that set is to come in on walls like Blissey, Weezing, Dusknoir, and Cresselia, outspeed them and Sub, then you sweep/deal damage with the sub up, so your speed only needs to be good enough to outspeed w/e walls you want to switch him in on vs. Also, -defense nature is a bad idea, since Tyraniboah is given HP ev's to survive attacks, and then attack back with a ko.(also to create 401 subs, but that's a different story) He's not meant to outspeed and kill, but live an attack and kill. He needs to be able to take an EQ from Garchomp, if you want to kill him with ice beam, etc. Also, Articanus, is Articanus your sn?

Articanus is my screen name on AIM and shoddy, yes, but that's beside the point.

I agree with you on all of that. Maybe I just don't like getting outsped by Cresselia's and T-Waved, considerably hindering him.

I don't think he can take Garchomp EQs, however. I think that's stretching it a bit, but I see it helping with Hippowdon, Donphan, and Gliscor. Then again, that's assuming you use Ice Beam>Dark Pulse, but Dark Pulse hits them hard enough anyway.

claydol should replace either flygon or scizor, most likely scizor

you may do well against SR but toxic spikes are a real pain, claydol is immune to toxic spikes (levitate) and resists SR, so he takes care of those problems easily

I have to agree that this isn't really a sandstorm team aside from the fact that you'll have sandstorm in play on the field. There's a bit too much to cover here in 1 sitting, os drop me a line on AIM and I'll help you out, as sandstorm teams are my specialty for D/P, even moreso than other pokes.

boah can live garchomp's non-brickbreak surprisingly well, I don't see what your beef is.

So you're saying Brick Break does more on Tyranitar than EQ with Garchomp?

Brick Break from Garchomp:
75(base) x 2(Rock) x 2(Dark)= 300

EQ from Garchomp:
100(base) x 1.5(STAB) x 2(Rock)= 300

Since an unSTABed Brick Break's power on Tyranitar is equal to the power of a STABed EQ on Tyranitar, and Brick Break would OHKO, wouldn't that mean EQ would also OHKO, making it incapable of taking EQs from Garchomp?

That's all I was saying. JesiahTEG's right about him being able to take hits and attacking back, but I hate him being slower than Cresselia. Its not like his sub can take the prebiously mentioned EQs or Brick Breaks anyway, even with the neutral nature.

that'd be pretty clever if that were true.

brick break does more damage. do the damage calculations.
