Do your attacks only weaken when actually connecting with your opponent/stage? or do they weaken even when hitting nothing but air?

I’m pretty sure it is just when you connect but I’d like more explanation on how the whole “stale moves” works.

I curious how attacks with multiple parts work and if being shielded counts.

Answer to question one:

In order to have an attack weaken you must make contact with either a non shielding opponent or hit a destructible part of the level.

Answer to question two: Only the first attack counts if it's a pre set combo so if you do the A-A-A combo it only counts the first A attack as far as weakening or restoring your other moves.

Oh and please use the search option
