Are you one of the lucky few to get your hands on a Wii? Post your Wii Number here so others can add you as a friend! Your Miis will mingle to your friend Wiis, and you'll be able to send messages back and forth with your friends. Online-enabled games (none so far) will require you to register Wii codes before playing, so why not start now?
Just leave your number in a reply below!
Where is my Wii Number?
From the Wii menu, view your messages and press the Create Message button (lower left). Next press the Address Book. Your Wii Number will be shown here (if it isn't showing, use the arrow on the left side of the screen to move to the front page of your address book). This is also where you register a friend's Wii Number.
How do I send messages to my friends?
Go back to the messages area and press the middle option. Select a friend to send to and type your message, optionally attaching a Mii avatar. You can only send messages to MUTUAL friends.
How do I know when I have a message?
The message icon in the Wii Menu will flash when you have any new messages, whether it's from a game (like Wii Sports' Fitness Results) or from a friend. Also, your console will automagically download messages for you while it's "off" (thamks to WiiConnect24); if you receive a message during this time, the console's disc tray will glow blue indicating so.
How do I let my Miis mingle?
Go to your Mii Plaza and visit the Mii Parade (upper right corner), then press the Travel button (right side). Follow the prompts to turn travelling ON. Then return to the plaza and edit the Miis you want to mingle. The menu for editing your Mii's name, birthday, etc. also has an option to turn mingling on or off. You can also use the Wii Friend button (right side of the Mii Plaza) to manually send a Mii to a friend. Use the Wii Friend feature if you want to send a Mii without having him mingle to every system on your friend list.
Finally, you can download a Mii to your Wiimote with the Transfer Mii button (right size of Plaza). You can then bring your Wiimote to a friend's machine and your Mii will, after loading the Mii into an appropriate game (Wii Sports for now), show up in your friend's Mii Parade.
How do I view mingling Miis?
Return to your Mii Plaza and go to your Mii Parade. Here you will find mingling Miis that your console has downloaded. You can move any of the Miis to your plaza by picking them up and using the button on the left.
Note: Smashboards is working on an option to display your Wii number alongside all your posts. You can currently set your Wii number in your profile, which will allow others to see it if they view your profile.
