Every DLC character was released in a different month: Byleth was released in January, Piranha Plant's formal release date was in February, Pyra and Mythra are set to be released in March, Joker was released in April, Min Min was released in June, Hero was released in July, Banjo & Kazooie were released in September, Steve was released in October, Terry was released in November, and Sephiroth was released in December.

Does this mean the last two characters will be released in May and August?

Depends on when Pyra and Mythra release. If they're early in March, we might see an accelerated release cycle, which would allow for CP10 to actually be released as soon as May. If it's mid/late March, we're probably in for the standard 3-month cycle and we'll see releases in June and September.

E3 2021 was confirmed, so I would assume they're saving one character reveal for then.

I'm personally expecting the next characters to be released in July and October.
I'm not sure Nintendo's gonna attend this year, given the stupid high entry fee. That being said, they're not just gonna throw away the reveal they had planned before COVID screwed everything up. Even without E3, I think we could still get a heavy-hitter in Summer.

Reminder that the pass was planned with two E3s in mind. And it's very up in the air as to whether Min Min would have been the E3 reveal, or if we would have gotten Steve had covid not delayed things. Could have even done a double reveal. So the chance for a heavy hitter is very much there this year

Based on past E3s, probably a double reveal. Mega Man, Villager, and Wii Fit for 2013, Palutena and the Miis for 2014, Ryu, Roy, and Lucas for 2015, EVERYONE IS HERE and Ridley for 2018, and Banjo and the Heroes for 2019. Min Min isn't really big enough to take advantage of E3's publicity, so they probably had Steve as the main draw, with Min Min coasting off the guessing game to make the most out of the reception to her.
