Assists, anyone?

I just thought of a cool idea that has no chance of happening, really.

I thought I'd share with you all anyways.
You know on the screen after a vs. match, when it shows who won, and how many ko's, falls, and sd's you got?

I was just thinking that it could be cool if one of the things on that screen was 'assists'!

Like, if you hit someone into another character just as they are unleashing an attack and then they get ko'd by the person you hit them into, you get an assist which could be worth +1 (like ko's), or maybe only +.5

Anyone like this idea? I know it won't happen I just like the sound of it.

I mean, if you are playing with more than 2 players, in vs mode..or even online...

Ex.

Say you are Fox and you Fsmash a Yoshi and he flies to the left side of the screen where a .. DK is, but before Yoshi hits the ground DK Usmashes him and ko's him.

If you were in a timed match, you would get a +1/+.5 for 'assisting' DK in that ko.

Interesting idea. I think it should only work like that if you were on a team. Like, the Fox and DK are on a team.

Maybe..... it's like in mele, when you hit someone at the sametime both get a +1

Yeah, I know it is. I just had this idea in my mind and thought I would bring it up for discussion.


Oh yeah, it could just be an option that could be turned on and off, too.

I don't know about points, but it should definitely keep track of assists.

Interesting. I could see that, but in Melee, DK would have just gotten the KO.

Yeah, if it was a Team Brawl option, that would make sense. Not so much in free-for-alls.

Awesome, I thought some people would be like

" Assists, no way! I don't need assists to win, I can win on my own cause I'm better than you!!!"

Or something like that, but most of you seemed to like it.

I would be really happy if this turned out to be included, but we all know this is impossible now.

Assists? Kind of makes it sound like a sport. Actually, like hockey or basketball, it'll be interesting to see these rankings.

Assist would be nice. Me and my freinds are always discussing this. We play 4 player free for all (timed) and are always fighting for kills over the high percents. Assist would be a nice stat to see how many more kills i should've had but were stolen from me
