Am I right in saying that this definitely changes how we predict characters? I mean, right now everyone short of MARIO himself seems to up for AT status. Like I heard from someone on the these boards that Luigi could become an assister, and he seemed serious! I mean,Samurai Goroh was considered if not a front runner, he had pretty good chances, and now hes done. And people are going to be pissed if some obscure character becomes a PC. They be like "How did so-and-so make it over Samurai Goroh? In the end, I think At's are both a blessing and a curse.

I see bad and good things. For one, it can weed out all the nonsense suggestions people are making. But it can also hinder the inclusion of characters that might have interesting movesets.

I honestly had given up on predicting updates for a week or two now. Sakurai is so ridiculously unpredictable, and the ATs have just added to that.

I don't think it's going to make or break Brawl or anything, and I think it's an excellent addition. It's definitely crippled my prediction ability beyond recovery though.

I forget who said it, but they said it very well in that ATs are a kind of "quality control" for the Brawl roster. It allows characters that don't necessarily have the potential to enter the ring to still have a shot to appear triumphantly in the game.

I'm not trying to bash Goroh, of course, but I'm sure with him as an AT, Sakurai probably has something better in mind for the playable roster.

It kinda scares me that samurai goroh lost his chance by being included as a AT, and that may mean that more characters may lose possible slots by being included as ATs. The plus side is that obscure characters like Boo or shy guys will at least make appearances, at least.

All the old school characters that didn't have a chance is a good thing(Goomba for example), but fearing a hopefuls' chances some what like Goroh's is something we should be worried about.

Thats what I meant. I still think Brawl will mind-blowingingly awesome no matter what! I will buy it even if LEISURE SUIT LARRY is a playable character. I just have absolutely no clue as to who will be a PC or an AT now, thats all.

Yeh the whole Assist Trophy idea has really shot some people down.
Especially those that are rooting on Tom Nook for brawl. Thank God for assist trophies in that case.
I think AT's are the pokeballs of the future, and cooler too. Even though we've only seen 2 AT's...Hammer Bro ftw.

There needs to be an event battle where you can only attack your opponent with Assist Trophies, while your enemy can only use Pokeballs to see which one is better.

How about people realize predicting a character is in doesn't mean they will be, and that if a character is popular but not REAL WELL KNOWN, they have a good chance of being an AT.
