Are those... L-cancels?

I found this video in the Japanese Pro Videos topic:

It's Ikki (DDD) vs Masashi (Ike). At 25 seconds, Ikki does an aerial with a very significant amount of lag time. Just a second later, he does it again and puts up his shield rather quickly (for someone as slow as DDD). He does this several times throughout the match. Could this be the new fast-fall L-cancel? Has anyone heard from Ikki about it? L-cancelling will pretty much make or break the game (for good players), so I sincerely hope this is it.

You mean at about :30? It kinda looks like it, but I thought that Gimpy noted from E 4 All that you can l-cancel by doing fast fall aerials into the ground...

I was comparing them to that of the Whobby Demo.
I should have mentioned that.
Sorry, I forgot to add it in. The icons seem are a fair bit larger.
Because the icons are larger, even though it's a demo, this basically confirms the icons will shrink when a character is added to the roster [unlocked, whatever you want to call it.] as mario and the others seem to take the majority of the screen, that and their is only 2 rows...

It seems like they'll shrink back down to their small melee form?
