Looks relatively useless for Smash Bros. If only it went over the circle pad, would be extremely more useful (and if it had a "normal" stick version, even more).

I think I'll adapt to the circle pad. No thanks.

do people even use arcade sticks for smash?
i would assume this is targeting the street fighter crowd, if anything.

Well That just looks terrible for the 3ds, mainly because the buttons are too small to not hit most all of them by mistake.

If those are control sticks on the top left and top right, i'm definitely getting it for 3ds online tournaments.
If not, I'll stick with the 3ds original controls, since it's pretty comfy imo.

This control stick apparently uses the Control Pad (D-Pad). Smash 4 uses the Control Pad to let the player make a taunt.
If the game lets the player use the Control Pad as a way to move (which I doubt), then this will be fine.

This is cool....but um, this isn't a typical fighting game like Street Fighter. While I would love this for those kind of games....Smash just isn't that type of game...and thus....umm...

"What the **** is an L button?"

Yeah, that looks terrible. Terrible for Smash, and terrible for a handheld. So it's doubly terrible for a handheld Smash.

If that's the case, then this is completely idiotic.

Even if the game does let you use the d-pad, the analog stick is an extremely important feature to the Smash series, and any freaking specialized controller should make use of it. I don't know why the article is calling it "perfect" for Smash.

It really looks like the company that made this didn't do their homework at all if they're planning on targeting Smash Bros fans.

It's still a four button setup so it'd be pretty worthless for Street Fighter. Blazblue maybe? I don't think either of those games have much of a community for 3DS though.

Looking at this, the joystick is way too big and the four button layout are spaced way too closed to each other, then again that's how it is for the 3ds xD

Lol, maybe it is terrible. I don't know why the article is calling it perfect either. We'll have to see how that thing works.
Most people will stick to using the 3DS itself anyway.

I do believe this was not intended for Smash, but for traditional fighting games such as SF4 3DS, but I could be wrong

Umm, what?

Seriously though, I don't think this will be useful for me...
Call me when we get Circle Pad Pro compatibility officially confirmed.

I honestly don't see the problem with the 3DS' circle pad pro. I'm actually fine with it.

Why would you even care about the circle pad breaking if you're not going to use it?
Assuming it works, I'd rather use a stupid hunk of overpriced plastic over the DPad than the DPad alone. Not enough to buy one, but if Smash gives you the option of using the dpad this thing might have a purpose.

Best thing I've seen in weeks.
It just shows how out of touch some companies are with society.

Seriously, who the hell uses an arcade joystick for Smash?

It looks like a cool idea but I don't think a joystick would be a very comfortable way to play smash.

Also, the joystick in this tool is only used to use the d-pad...
So that makes it more useless, since all you use the d-pad for in smash is taunts. :p
Unless we can use the d-pad+a now for smash attacks (hopefully)...

Some people probably do.

Really? Only the d-pad?

Well, that completely worthless...
