Because things often go longer then expected, events may start later, but these are the times we plan to hold by.
Rules and Pre-Registration, and general information are available at http://zah.io/one/.
Located in the Faculty Lounge on the first floor of the Swearingen Engineering Center. Enter the building from the side entrance on Main Street, the one with all of the steps and not the grand entrance, and it is one of the first rooms on the right. There should be signs.
Each event will have a $5 entry fee and there will be no venue fee. Because this event is being hosted through the university, though, in order to avoid getting anyone into trouble we will be distributing prize money through the use of some kind of gift card that we will have purchased before the event. If people plan to attend, please try and pre-register because we will be using the pre-registration numbers to decide the prize pot. Closer to the event date we will announce the expected prize pot for each event, and any bonus profits we make on the day of the event will go towards the University of South Carolina Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) to help fund future events and try and make them even bigger.
To attract local students who may be wary of paying to enter a tournament, and possibly their first tournament, the entry fee for each event will only be $2 with a valid USC student ID.
In order to help build the community here in SC, we would like to invite newer players who are interested in joining the competitive scene or just play around with the community to attend. Again there will be no venue fee, and we will have designated friendly setups, hopefully, that anyone can jump in and play on. We just ask you respect the Tournament Organizers as well as the set ups you will be using.
This event will also be streamed by Clockwork Studios at http://www.twitch.tv/clockworkstudios
If you have any questions or need to contact either of us, feel free to do so via Smashboards, or through Facebook. You can also find the event page on Facebook and join our SC Melee Facebook page. We would appreciate anyone who can bring set ups or tvs, and try and let us know if you can so we can plan accordingly. Hope to see everyone there!
