I'm a newer fox main, so I'm looking for some advice. I see a lot of players do running upsmashes, so what's the best way to perform this? I've tried jump-cancelled upsmash as well as crouch-cancelled upsmash. Does one come out slightly faster? The animations look to be the same length from what I can tell with my untrained eye

Jump canceled usmash is much faster because you don't have to go in crouch animation.

Jump canceled upsmash is usually preferred since you're able to do it in your initial dash, whereas for the crouching upsmash you have to be running.

So is wavedash -> shine a better option that running?
Running shine is always better because wavedashing takes like 14 frames or something before you can act out of it, you have to get past your jump squat then actually recover from the air dodge animation before you can act. Run->crouch is much faster, albeit a bit slower than jump canceling. Wavedash->shine is only really good when you wavedash oos since you can't dash directly out of shield.

Basically just use jump canceled upsmash for running usmash and run->crouch->shine for running shine.
