I would like to know what your method of approaching with snake is. I dont just mean how you get close to the enemy but what you do after that.

Sorry if im not being specific enough, but I will give you an example of what I mean. Everyone knows snakes game is to keep pressure on his opponents and to constantly attempt to force his opponent to the edge of the stage because he is so good at edgeguarding. So bascially the approach I use to set this situation up is simply AAA combos or Ftilts to get my opponent off the edge of the stage.

I feel however, that this approach is becoming somewhat stale and I need a new way of getting my opponent where I want him. Against good opponents all they have to do is see my AAA combo or Ftilt coming and block it.

I hope this cleared up my question for you.

Well, there's always mortardashing. Or even just a dash attack. It's a lot better than you'd think. Done correctly, it's almost impossible to shieldgrab. It can be fun to toss a grenade in before you attack. Keep them under pressure. Actually, n-airs can be pretty fun, or d-airs. They have four(?) hits each, so they last quite a while. Any aerials can work, but be careful of f-air, it's really easy to interrupt.

Once you get close, however you do it, tilts are your friend. D-tilt may seem stupid, but it comes out fast, and your crouch is really low, so it's hard for them to hit you sometimes. D-tilt to u-air is fun. Or D-tilt to U-tilt. Whatever you want, really.

Unless they force me to approach, I just sit back and cook nades. If I do have to approach its likely to be a projectile user so i just dash-powershield into tilts, maybe throw some nades in to halt the projectile spam for a bit.

I mortar-slide for my approaches mostly. Sometimes I'll use a dash attack though to mix it up a bit. I think approaching from the air is a bad idea. Snake doesn't have the greatest air game so you don't have much to work with from the air. Just b-air realy.

He doesn't need to and he isn't even that great at it. Mortar sliding is one of the best approaches, but other then that he does not have a good approach game.
