Approaching opponents

Hey everyone.

Been playing this a lot but I always have problems with approaching people. Well, actually just one person in particular and I was wondering if someone can give me some insight on how I should go about it. It's the same thing over and over for the most part. If he plays Link then he just runs away and spams projectiles. If he plays peach then he just throws turnips at me, and when I do get close he just shields my attack and then into a grab. Rinse repeat.
I use a range of characters but my better ones are Jigglypuff, Falco, Zelda, Ganondorf and Charizard. With falco I just go in with short hop lasers and it works alright, but as just about everyone else it's struggle to get in and get grabbed when I do get in.

It's been frustrating me to no end and it stopped me playing it for a good amount of time. I'm wanting to pick it back up again but I can't be bothered playing with him if all he does is that.

Simple spelling mistake that I didn't notice when I was writing.

How should I approach as a Jigglypuff? The character has no projectiles, my range is very limited and I move slowly. I usually just try to weave in and out between the projectiles, but I usually take a lot of damage from doing so, and then followed up with the shield grab.

Try to approach with bair. Jiggly's aerial momentum is worlds greater than her ground momentum and abusing he disjoint on bair could save you from getting hit with a lot of projectiles. Just be smart about it

If you're going in as Charizard RAR nair is your best friend. Crouch cancel jab is also a safe one with the right spacing.

Fair and bair can also be safe if spaced correctly.

I main Ganon and yeah, Link can be a pain in the neck. Practice catching bombs/turnips so you can get a free glide toss. Rang and turnips can be uair'd, not sure about the bow though. If you're getting shield-grabbed, l-cancel your aerials. From there you can grab, jab/spotdodge if you expect a grab, shieldgrab if you expect spin attack out of shield, or chase if they opt to escape or jump. Against Peach's shield you'll want to space your aerials so you land outside her grab range.

Times like these, I wish I had Falco's down B from Brawl. People wouldn't dare camp against me with that thing (back when I played Falco, at least)

Another tip: Get stages with platforms if you can. FD sucks :urg:

if you're getting shield grabbed a lot you can approach outside of his grab range and wavedash backwards to bait his grab and then punish
